We only need to start saying #levels and some will have gone full Wolves from a few years ago after we've had two thirds of a good season.

There's surely way more prestige in the Conference league. League Cup, whilst I'd like to win it, is of ever decreasing value. As, let's be honest, is the FA Cup.

Though I think that us not winning it for so long maybe makes it mean loads for us. If we won it this year I'd lose my actual nut.

We've come a long way to be playing any flavour of Europe so I'm not going to be sniffy about being in the wrong tournament. It beats QPR on a Tuesday night
does it ?

5 years ago today we were playing Rotherham in the Championship in front of less than 28k. A couple of weeks away from Preston and the cabbage, also in front of less than 28k. I'll take Conference matches over that shit any day of the week.

I get why people think it's a micky mouse league or whatever but we've got 2 decent teams in our group, and there's some decent teams in the other groups too. So if we were to win it it's quite likely we'd have to beat some decent sides to do it. So there's still pride to be taken in that, for me anyway. Knock out games against Fenerbahçe or Fiorentina would be as exciting as any other games we've played over the last few seasons.

Winning the League Cup gets you Europa League , of course it will be much harder than winning the Conf as we'd have the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool aswell as CiŁy and Arsenal in the mix.

It gets you the Conference. Man Utd winning it last season but qualifying for the CL via the league is the very reason we're in it.

We should be winning this by a few goals.

I go for 3 or more to nil.

Legia are not good but as in all games need to be respected.

Anyone bemoaning being in the Europa Conference League really needs to have a word with themselves. It is the 3rd Level of Euro comps but we’re in it and there’s a couple of hundred other clubs across Europe who’d give their eye teeth for the opportunity. As for comparing it to the Intertoto which was a two bob pre season qualifier for the UEFA Cup, people really need to get a grip. It’s definitively on a par with the old Cup Winners Cup in my view.

Also when did it become a thing to decry any trophy? When I started supporting Villa we were the 4th most decorated club in the country, now we’re Sixth and have been overtaken by the nouveau-riche oil state vassal and a pillaged Russian West London mafia money laundering operation. All those clubs and the big 3 red clubs all count every trophy no matter how minor. It’s not beneath Aston Villa to think the same way and I look forward to Unai and his team hopefully getting the trophy count ticking forward again at some point. After all for a club like ours surely we’re one of the clubs who should be in the conversation for trophies, no?

I must admit certain peoples dismal doomongering about this competition is getting right on my wick.

Well said. Yeah it’s a load of bollocks.

Probably a generational/age thing.

Agreed, it's the same sort of nonsense I've seen on SHA about it since we qualified for Europe.
