Apologies.
« on: September 11, 2023, 12:32:54 PM »
I just wanted to make a formal public apology to Monty & Dave for my reactions a few days ago.

To give you a little insight into why I can be quite an emotional chap at times, I think I should explain my situation.

I live with chronic pain from a nerve injury.

I have it 24/7, 365 days & it can range from very painful to "off the charts".

When it is off the charts, my temper & emotional control are severely affected.

When we had our little confrontation the other day, it was off the charts.

Its not an excuse, as its not anybody else's fault & we all have our own shit to deal with.

And even though there was a mutual misunderstanding of each others opinion, I shouldn't have kicked off the way I did.

Im man enough to admit when I am in the wrong, so for that, I apologise to everybody on the forum.

Especially Monty & Dave.

And thanks to everyone who tried to help defuse the situation.

Cheers, Andy.

I always think far more of people that can hold their hands up and apologise than those that can't. For me, this kind of thing seperates this place from pretty much anywhere else online.

Good man.

Hey Pablo, don't sweat it! Barely registered by the standards of 'kicking off' that can go on here (me definitely included!). Really don't worry about it.

Really sorry to hear about your condition, is there any treating it to make it more manageable?

👍

Nothing can be done anymore. Surgery helped a little, as do the medications, but physio wasn't helpful long term & its past the point of return, so its now permanent.

It is what it is.

Like I say, its not an excuse & I should try harder to be calmer...

Well if that's not an excuse lord knows what the rest of us have to say!

Again, sorry for my part in the bust-up, and very sorry for your situation there.

All the best with your condition Pablo. Trust the Villa can do their bit at times when spirits need lifting.

Fair play to you Pablo mate, but let's face it, we all love the occasional ruck. It's free entertainment.

It's like when the commentators tut sanctimoniously at handbags on the pitch - half of us are opening the popcorn and hoping to see a bit of claret.

In fact, maybe we should have a dedicated area of the forum just for handbags.

Oh wait, we already do: The General Politics Thread

All the best to you Pablo. You have my sympathy with a chronic pain condition. My Mrs has had that for the last 20 odd years and I know the devastating impact it can have on your quality of life.

Let's hope the Villa are able to bring you some cheer this season.

I’ve had a few rows on here and enjoyed them. I’d say I’ve not really been offended and not been shy to offend someone in return, while hoping nobody gets banned. But that’s up to the moderators. As said above, I think we all enjoy a good row (within reason) and it’s important that we can distinguish between H&V and real life.

Fair play to you and good luck.
