Dreadful half.  Awful.

Unai needs to see who he can and can't trust. And unfortunately a lot of them we looked at ourselves as fans: Cash, Bailey, even Watkins really. Just aren't looking good enough for top level aspirations.

Correct on all counts.

Problem with Watkins in the end isn't even the finishing - it's the touch. Just doesn't have the instinctive technique and close control for this football. It's a shame, as I like him for so much of what he does, but just compare him to that child Ferguson yesterday...he just doesn't quite look like he belongs.

That's exactly it. He's done incredibly well, and worked his nads off, to get where he is. But nothing in this game is natural to him.

If only Watkins could finish like Archer

Hopefully the second half will be better. Should have scored, but should probably have conceded more.

Agreed. Think we've looked OK with the ball but all over the shop without it.

Might as well do away with the offside rule if it's only used occasionally.

For the chance I just think Ollie was expecting Bailey to reach it first so simply wasn't set to strike it properly. It happens. Was another fantastic cross from Digne.

McGinn was the bigger miss, have to be getting it on target at least.

Extremely poor from everyone - including (not often you say this) Emery. The starting lineup is wrong, the shape was wrong (completely overrun in midfield), and when he went to correct it thanks to the injury he brought on a player so utterly useless you wonder if he's been bribed.

Stop trusting those who don't deserve it, Unai. They were horrible against Newcastle and they're horrible again today. You don't owe them shit.

Absolute garbage - Torres beyond crap. Liverpool have thankfully decided to treat it as a training session instead crushing us like Newcastle did.

That better be our bad half.

Our high line is killing us with the amount of time their midfield has to pick a pass.

We really struggled with the pace they came forward. Grim.

Man. United lost 7-0 at this venue last year.

I think at places like Anfield you can talk about technical quality all you like but who's actually talking in that backline as Pau certainly isn't and Konsa has never been that talkative at CB.

End of last season Mings marshalled the backline brilliantly and Liverpool hardly created a serious chance up to the 90th minute, complete contrast today.

Salah looks offside for that second gol
