I dont see it like that. You're not going to change behaviours of people like me who want to spend, but have given up, by effectively maintaining the status quo or worsening it. You provide better opportunities to spend for all, as Tottenham have, Everton will and Liverpool are slowly doing.

At my nephews birthday on Sunday and I was chatting to a few mates who are season ticket holders at Anfield and the things they were saying about the stand to our left from the Anfield Road, might as well have been lifted from here. Same issues as with the Witton, the same that used to exist in the main stand. It's taken them the thick end of 10 years to sort 50% of it out and they're a tourist cash cow.

Shows the scale of the job in hand for what has fundamentally been 20 years of commercial neglect. They absolutely need to improve the upper Holte, amongst other concourses. The North is going to be remedied more dramatically, but Terrace View, Holte Suite being done first wrankles, as our experience worsens. But they will do it all, because they're not going to leave cash on the table.
Good summary of where we are. The clubs need to build the commercial revenue if we want success. Our revenue bears no comparison with the clubs we're trying to compete with. And that is the modern game in a sentence!
It's the large s.t. waiting list that they believe rationalises their approach: if I dump my s.t. at the end of this season - a distinct possibility - someone else will buy it and accept the then-current reality.

Rinsing people because of an uptick in demand is very short term thinking. They could create a permanant increase in turnover by simply improving what's on offer at Villa Park for the majority of fans.
Totally agree: this is the bit I find so weird - that by improving the current offering they will encourage more people to buy more, having come into the ground earlier than they used to!
I arrive 3 hours early to get parked and then have a long hang-around till the doors open - with the Holte Suite gone, I'll be forced go in earlier to get out of the rain / have a slash / etc; or, go elsewhere (someone mentioned the Aston Tavern and that sounds like a good option).

A mate of mine uses the Aston Tavern - it’s £5 entry now! In fairness, he said it’s now less crowded as a consequence.

I walked past the Witton Arms on Saturday and for the first time ever there was a big queue to get in (a knock on effect of the Holte Suite being closed, no doubt).

A work colleague with his group of mates, always used the holte suite at half time and for an hour after each game. This season they have been using the Witton Arms since it got done up and went home support only. He said it was really good. Might convince my 13 year old its the way forwards

The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the Witton Arms owners somehow got wind of these developments before they decided to go upmarket.

All you can eat 'street' food. So frozen, deep-fried/ microwaved industrial fare then.

I hope some of the punters will do a 'reel' or something. Can't wait to see the spread.

I think it means anything collected from the street outside and deep fried. So maybe a bit of squirrel or rabbit, if you're lucky a whole fox.

As it's in Aston, that could include old sofas, bags of rubbish and the occasional 25 year old microwave dumped by fly tippers.
