The package for the Arsenal - Villa game next April is already sold out out.

That'll be LeeB and Risso.

I'll hopefully be there if my mate invites me again. Had a cracking day out in Islington last time, as always completely spoiled by having to go to the football. Home door-to-door in about 90 minutes as well.

I shudder when I think that in five years time a "club created" anthem could emerge at the Villa like that godawful thing they play at Woolwich....
I'm not so sure about that.  A song by a local artist adopted by the fans.

It's hardly this monstrosity

After listening to that I'm coming around to the thinking that 'My Lovely Horse' was an unappreciated classic.

I spotted the Intercity 125 called My Lovely Horse on the sidings outside Crewe a few weeks ago on a work trip to Glasgow/

Not quite sure tbh.  I was looking for a song that I think was called 'hey Aston Villa'  but this came up instead.  Fantastic isn't it?

He's American. That's the corporate culture in general.

I think he's in for a rude awakening.

There may have won the War of Independence, but this is a harder battle

The lyrics are fine, there's no problem there.

Its a weird dichotomy now, whereby we have a manager that seems like is our best chance of success and winning stuff, in decades. With that, if it happens, the sky six premier league era comes all the other shite elements like corporatism that sucks the soul out of the club but increases revenue to allow us to continue to compete. I don’t profess to speak for the ‘average’ supporter, but from my point of view I want the former without the later, but that doesn’t realistically seem possible under the premier league model.

The club, Heck and his cronies seem however to be taking huge gambles and risks here. This ‘giant awakens’ shite, seems to symbolise their belief that our current upward trajectory is a permanent or long term state of affairs. Liverpool and Man Utds success has been built on decades of on the field success, Arsenal to a lesser extent, helping to propel them to become world wide entities, Man City’s success on huge unparalleled oil money. I love the Villa but we have none of this and whilst I don’t like to think about it, there is a possibility that Emery leaves in 2,3, 4 years and we go back to being bang average or worse. That bloody tent in the Aston car park will be an interesting experience then.

Given all of that and despite the waiting list, it seems stupid in the extreme to start to alienate the bulk of match day supporters who will never pay for hospitality. Taking facilities and options away without any prior warning and leaving the rest of the facilities to rot. Seems the most short sighted thing from people who will float in and out of the club in a year or two.

That is the point Rambo, they could increase revenues  without pissing everyone off. They have made the fatal mistake of losing trust whilst making no attempt to improve the facilities for the vast majority.
Everything  they do now is going to be viewed cynically because of the piss poor way they have gone about communicating.

The Arsenal season tickets that we had at work were £3,500 each.

You got a free program, free beers at half time (pre poured). Once pre poured beers had gone, it was a pay bar.

Agreed.  Tap the low-hanging fruit, there's literally thousands of supporters wanting to spend money every week and unable to because of piss poor facilities and service.

Yeah, but I think ignoring the required improvements is part of plan, reduce basic tickets to just that and pay through the nose for anything resembling adequate service, the kind of Ryanair model without the cheap tickets in the first place.
