It's fine to offer that sort of hospitality option, but it can't be at the expense of, or instead of improving facilities around the grounds for all fans. Imagine going to a theatre (equivalent prices) and experiencing some of the facilities and services we have to put up with.

I agree entirely re the second sentence.

re the first, it looks to me more and more like that is exactly what is happening.

Someone on the VillaTalk thread talked about having heard that Liverpool make so much out of 1-2 games a season fans, and how much other top clubs charge for similar, which is all good and fair enough for the club to have that in their minds, but there's one big fucking difference here - Liverpool are successful, have won leagues and Champions Leagues in recent years, and haven't spent, until recently, an entire decade being absolutely shit, out of the top flight and with part of their ground closed off because nobody wanted to go to the matches.

This is all a bit too chicken - egg for my liking.
spot on. We are being charged for the price of success and we haven't actually won anything
Friend is a Manchester United season ticket holder, his ticket price is about £800 and he's moaning about the increase of about £40,at least they had the privilege of winning trophies and had there money's worth,

Aren't they allowed to swear on VT? "He didn't say 'flipping'", we are told.

My cynicism was underplayed if anything despite rebuttals about refurbs and lack of staff. I can't help thinking they are making a major mistake by prioritising hospitality throughout rather than keeping the Holte free from it. I can sort of understand why they want to exploit such a large space as the HS but the way they have gone about it is appalling and insulting.

And that Heck sounds a right piece of work. He'll be gone within 18 months.

Fair play to those who attend. It must be soul destroying. These meetings have always seemed utterly pointless.

Clearly never a two way conversation. More send than receive.

Oh for the days of the old AGMs.

I notice it’s changed form Fan Consultation Group to Fan Advisory Board. Not consulting anymore, just telling us what they’re doing.

The 'corpoarte hospitality' thing is an absolute abomination too, in the wider society sense. It exists as a way to spunk on piss ups money instead of paying tax, fundamentally.

It doesn't mate, because entertaining clients isn't tax deductible. Happy to put your mind at ease!

It will be interesting to see what they do in the Holte upper by the West Ham game.  If they remodel the toilets to fit in more urinals & traps and create more bar facilities then fair enough.  I strongly suspect they won't.

The main priority should really be Witton Lane upper but I've no idea what they can really do there with the space available.

That's the first time I've looked at VT in many, many years. Its very different to here isn't it. I often open a thread here on the latest page and my first thought is 'how on earth have they got to this from the thread title'. I'm just as bad mind.

It's a Premier League diktat. Every group has to have the same title.

It's similar to here in that there's a core group who have posted for years and mostly set the tone of the place. Off Topic over there is miles better than their main Villa topic area, and has a similar sort of intelligent vibe to our Off Topic. I used to post there quite a bit but rarely do so now. What put me off mostly was the moderating and overall rules set by the site owner where any sort of wandering away from the main subject was met with a warning, post deletions and red text. Can't be doing with that, I love how things meander on here, especially when things are quiet. I also don't like how their software makes it easy to post animated gifs and Tweets, as some topics just descent into gif after gif.

On here, Head Dave sets the tone and the mods follow suit, where only the most egregious dickheadery gets punished, and even then it normally takes quite a while until they finally snap.
