Isn't this nice compared to this time last year?  Well done Villa.

Another 3 points - some great football at time - especially for the 2nd and 3rd goal.

think Diaby could be a game changer.  He seems the real deal, and should take some of the pressure of Ollie.   Will be interesting to see Carlos and Pau against better teams - but both look good with the ball.

Absolutely bossed the midfield. We spent most the second half in cruise control. Olsen was ok I guess but he's no Emi Martinez. Ollie fluffed his lines again. The commentary I listened to was calling Luca Digne Dinya the whole game which is piss poor and very annoying. Overall another masterclass by Unai Emery.

How do you say his name, cos if you think he's a distant relative of Brian Deane you're more off the mark than the commentators.

Defence is a big worry for me but if we can just get by for the time being they will get better as a unit.
Everywhere on the pitch we look fantastic.

Didn’t see the game so cannot comment of specifics, but Carlos and Pau have hardly kicked a ball in the PL so deserve some slack whilst they get up to speed.

The fans at the ground seemed very happy with Matty
I wonder why he gets dismissed so much on here
Must be a H&V thing

Anyone concerned about squad depth needs to look at our injury list (Martinez, Mings, Buendia, Ramsey, Moreno, Dendoncker, Coutinho...Tim) and see we brought on Zaniolo, Tielemans, Traore and Duran, with Bailey unused.

Back up right back and we go. We go big.

It's pronounced Dean as in Dean Smith.

I recall Moreno having a rough first few games, too.

First few minutes I think. After that he was flying.

I don't expect us to win any game, and don't suppose I ever will now.  But that's just the sort of banana skin match that we'd routinely launch ourselves over for just about most of my Villa supporting life.  And I'd shrug and think 'there we go, that's us'.  Sometimes looking like doing something, mostly being a bit mediocre and making up the numbers, albeit in the top flight.

But I'm just starting to believe we might be a proper force to be reckoned with again.

No it isn't.
I'll stand corrected then. Dinya it is.
