Great day and night.  Don’t think there was one villa fan who disgraced themselves.  Complete overkill on here over GSTK

Got to say the Villa as a club let hardcore fans down taking a paltry 1.000 when offered 3,000

Some issues with passing on tickets and this shows up a wider issue with resale but again villa are not whiter than white themselves over ticket distribution
information I got was that Villa were originally offered 1100 tickets,

Unfortunately, you've got some fans who go to away games just for the sole purpose of drinking as much as humanly possible. They're men that haven't quite grown up.

This. Embarrassing that they have Villa colours.

Just a note, Bert makes us all happy and mad in almost equal measure. While the skill to win the penalty was great, the way he killed the ball from Diego’s (I think) brilliant long pass was sublime.

Our away support is fantastic. But the dicks at Liverpool last season - the ones queuing up before the game, checking that the Liverpool fans they were taunting didn’t look hard enough to pile over and slap them - were embarrassing. Singing Hillsborough-related songs to kids and tourists - up there with kicking puppies as far as this pearl clutcher is concerned

Singing songs about football related tragedies such as Munich, Bradford and Hillsborough is completely unacceptable and shouldn't happen (don't want to venture into whataboutery, but it is a lot more prevalent at other clubs).  It's a bit different though to singing the national anthem to wind up some Scottish and Liverpool fans.

Though I did spend some time up in Scotland a few years ago and learnt that the two Edinburgh sides are the Glasgow sides lite in some ways.  I presume that the Villa fans singing the national anthem were doing so with an English / Scottish rivalry in mind, whereas it can have more of a sectarian link up there.

Is Liverpool's dislike of the anthem not tied to the Hillsborough investigation/cover up though? Or am I confusing things.

Hibs were prepared to offer us 3000 on the proviso that we’d do the same for them in the return leg. We said no.

It's a part of this whole "Scouse not English" narrative some of their fans espouse.  It's a recent thing as well, as I went a neutral to the FA Cup Final in 2012 when they played Chelsea (couldn't have been more neutral at a game as I dislike both teams immensely!!) and they didn't boo the anthem then.

It's up to them if they want to boo the anthem, but they should realise that they are going to wind up other people by booing it and then can't complain when it's sung at them to wind them up in return.

Vaguely remember Villa fans in the away end at Anfield in the cup back in 1992 signing Sweet Chariot (assume there was a big rugby match on around the same time).  Natives booed that one as well. Can't say I blame 'em.

I went back on HibeesBounce for a look and the first post I alighted on opined that Villa shouldn't even be in the ECL because England have enough teams in Europe already.

I just left again, and probably won't go back...

A high proportion of absolute arseholes. Pissed as farts/coked up or both.  I’ve never understood the desire to stand up against the fence separating fans flapping your hands like a twat to the away fans.

Not what I heard from a good source and if that offer was made why deprive our own fans of tickets for the return match
