That throw in, what on earth was Ash thinking?

Do you think, for a split second, he actually forgot which team he's on?

It wasn’t great but good the defender have reacted quicker (am i just defending young too much )

No, you're right, I think it was Keane who didn't react. Also the way the ball got away from Duran a little bit should have been enough to give a defender the chance to stop that attack, but they were nowhere to be seen.

Steve Bruce ball is Pep level compared to that shit from Dyche. They really could be doomed unless they bin him and his dinosaur tactics.

Thought some of the play though the lines was just a joy to watch and to think we have

Mings
Buendia
Moreno
Ramsey
Zanlilio to come

Above red filth and Chelsea...that will do for now

No. Just a bad day at the races for him. Great for us.

It should count as another assist for us from him. 🤣

McGinn MOTM today. Was excellent. Really saw what Digne brings in that first half. Everton struggled big time with his deliveries. We lost a lot of cohesion going to 3 at the back.

I hope the refereeing changes as they seem to be booking almost any foul which is ridiculous.

As others have said, it was the perfect game for Torres to start to help get up to speed, although the only times they looked vaguely threatening was when they got down between him and Digne, they did a little give and go and he completely lost the runner.

At the game, it looked like he got completely done for pace, but watching it back on MOTD2 he got caught ball watching and was drawn in to the player on the ball.  I thought he visibly got more up to speed as the game went along and his passing between the lines was good at times.

It was interesting that Diego Carlos came on instead of Chambers, which wasn't the case last season.  Thought Carlos looked pretty sharp when he came on as well and the way he eased their player off the ball when he was through on goal was great defending.

I wonder if it's good in a way for Torres that Mings got injured. Rather than being slowly integrated into things he's been shoved right in, and even in terms of being vocal and bossing the others about, he'll just have to do it, and he doesn't have to worry about stepping on toes. I don't know if footballers think like that, but either way, sometimes it's better to just be thrown in at the deep end.

Footballers are people. Some people think that way, some don't. I guess we'll see.

Perfect response after the opening day.

Pleased for Bailey & Duran. Both needed it.

There's always the nagging doubt that things will start to unravel, that last season would prove to be an outlier and we will regress. Today was the perfect response to those thoughts. The ruthless and efficient dispatching of a piss poor side.

I've been thinking the same. Torres was much more vocal and assertive, and I think that he would be less able to be so had our 'captain' been alongside him. Tragic as the circumstances are, Torres may benefit from being able to play his natural game and find his feet quicker this way.

Carlos looked useful when he came on too, which was encouraging. Wouldn't surprise me if we end the season with Torres and Carlos as first choice partnership and Konsa as first choice right back.
