Am I right in saying that's 5 goals from 5 different players so far?

Didn't need to get out of 3rd gear really, they're fucking shit. As others have said, it was the perfect game for Torres to start to help get up to speed, although the only times they looked vaguely threatening was when they got down between him and Digne, they did a little give and go and he completely lost the runner.

But can't really fault anyone, a very pleasant warm Sunday afternoon. Getting into the North took about 15 mins though, doesn't normally take that long so not sure what was up with that.

There were a few longer stoppages than a normal but an extra 18 minutes in a game is going to get old very quickly.

Good response after last week but can't get carried away, Everton were rubbish.

Yes and Watkins need to start to put some of his opportunities even we should be tolerated he miss a bit more than others given his overall game  or should / might loose his starting place as Nicolo might come in and Bailey has upped his game. Diaby is a certain.

Not a great game to judge the defence on, but a good 90 minutes to get Torres in there and get some communication and what not happening. He seemed to be leading things a bit, which is good to see.
I'd start the same back 4 against Hibs, assuming Digne is still here, give them another run out together before Burnley next week. By the time we get to Livedpool at Anfield they should be a well gelled unit.

I'd be looking to keep Digne. His delivery was very good today.

God, yeah, to sell him after that display makes no sense.

At a 4-0 result we can still say “we woz robbed”. 6 or 7 would be a true reflection of the game.

Watkins does a lot of work for the team and I'm not one that thinks he needs to be replaced, but I'll admit its not a great look when we score 4 against a team like that and our main striker isn't among them.

Although ultimately I don't really care where the goals come from as long as they come.

If we play a poorer side than Everton this season it will be quite something. Only 2 games, but the stench of 2015/16 Villa from them is overwhelming.

they keep flirting with relegation, it'll get them at some point. Got to be this season, they're horse shit .

Sort of weird to start the season with one of the two most difficult fixtures (in my opinion), followed by perhaps the easiest. Today looked great, but the opposition was shockingly poor.

So it's hard to tell where we are. Games against the likes of Palace and maybe Liverpool will give us a better idea.

You can only beat what's in front of you, though, and we did that in first gear. Well done to the lads. Luiz and McGinn have grown into absolutely superb players. in terms of sheer footballing ability and technique, Diaby is clearly a cut above anybody we've had for years (that volley, with his wrong foot, was sensational). And Torres looked like reasssuringly authoritative (notwithstanding a bit of ball-watching).

Well done especially to Bailey for making me look a bit of a twat (although, similarly, you can only make what's in front of you look a twat, etc.).

Everton were absolutely rotten. DCL is their best player but makes Coutinho look robust. The rest of them are a rag bag bunch of journeymen and under-performers. Whatever they played for Iwobi was too much by a factor of about a million. You can only beat what's in front of you though, and we did an excellent, professional job. It could and should have been more.

I dread to think how many hundreds of millions Everton have spent to be that bad.

Feel sorry for that poor lad that was jumping off their medical table last week thinking he was coming to us instead.

90m on strikers to replace Lukaku and they've scored 13 league goals in 6 years.
