An unexpected highlights of the TV coverage was an Everton sub trying to tie a bow in his hair.

As I said.

We will bounce back and I can see us putting 4 past Everton.

Insight!

Everton were shite, but in days of yore, we'd have huffed and puffed to a narrow win and been hanging in the last 10 mins as they played Dycheball, lobbing crosses into our box.

That was incredibly easy as a contest that we will ever likely play.

Everton were truly terrible all over the field, except for leaving a foot in on our players.

The media might like Dyche, because he makes them laugh & is good for a quote, but his "football" belongs in a bygone era & their attempts to be "physical" is nothing more than "NFL bounty-gate" in the Premier League.

And they succeeded injuring at least two of our players today. One with what looks like another serious knee injury, & the other looks like another broken foot.

Managers like Dyche, Pulis, etc, have no place in the modern game.

And in small spells today, their "bounty-gate" tactic seemed to work as we dropped the tempo from 1st gear, to neutral, for fear of getting injured by one of their thugs in a game that was over as soon as we scored.

We didn't go up in gears today from 1st. We didn't have to.

We went through the motions in 1st gear & smashed them anyway.

There were spells where we played some nice football.

Everyone did their jobs pretty much from the starters, except Watkins. Whose touch was missing, along with his finishing. There are times when we have to start looking at alternative options. Christ, even Bailey scored today, even with him attempting not to by smashing it at the centre of the keeper. Fortunately it went through his legs.

Tielemans looked good when he came on. Duran getting his goal was good to see. Might be the start of him getting a bit more game-time. His tracking back was good to see too.

Digne played well with all the space in the universe out in the left. Some of his crossing was really good. Cash could do with a few lessons...

Overall, a great result.

Its also great that we didn't have to exert too much energy to get the win. And could bring on a few subs.

More injuries were a bit of a shitter... They looked serious too...

Goal difference 0, dignity restored, good stuff you Villa boys.
Indeed. A footballing lift after England earlier!   ;)

As for Everton: it's going to be another long, long season for them. Wonder if they'll Actually Go Down this time?

Everton must hate us. Since we came back up we've had their number every time. Even the game we drew we should've won.

They're going down by the way. Shite.

Oh well.

Class from Villa. Diaby is the real deal. Can't believe he's ours tbh.

Controlled the game from start to finish, lovely stuff. Thought everyone did well though Luiz and Digne were my MOTM's and a special mention for agent Young :)

Wish we could play them every week.

Good performance against a poor side. The midfield were so much better this week, especially McGinn. Digne was superb first half, great to see Duran get off the mark. Konsa excellent, and there’s something about Carlos, I think he’s going to be a really good player for us.

Proof today that we are much better than last week. That last weeks score didn’t correctly reflect the game. That we will be much better than most of this division. With the right additions and subtractions between now and the end of the window we will again compete at the right end of the table.

Agreed, Carlos looks really good. Hopefully bringing him back slowly was the right move and he's going to go from strength to strength now.

He has a lot of strength to go round!
