At the risk of giving any shred of credibility to our very own Neil Oliver, I do think there's a couple of things Villa should say, if only to quieten the rumours - namely, are there any plans to 'upgrade' existing seats or facilities and how many away tickets are available to corporates compared to last season.

I can answer the last bit. Not as many.

I'm pretty happy with the statement of signing Diaby, Torres and Tielemans myself.

Saturday is hopefully just another bump in the road, 99% of teams have them and hopefully we'll grow stronger from it rather than go into our shells.

Club could be doing better on some of the off the field stuff but again that's par for the course for most clubs.

I think those of us who grew up with the publicity-lovingDoug Ellis expect those at the top of the club to be shoving their faces into the public arena constantly. It isn't necessarily like that at other clubs. Christian Purslow was another exception in the Doug mould.

There's a lot of truth in that. Seventeen years on (and if that doesn't make you feel old, nothing will) we still expect the owner to be here all the time and the CEO to be in the news regularly.

There's some irony in a post titled 'Silent Treatment' originating from our very own Mr Flinstone.

It's something we should all endorse.

Utterly pointless and provocative thread. OP knows exactly what he's doing, just stirring shit - par for the course.

It’s what you do. That’s the point he’s making. Had we won you wouldn’t have started the thread.
