Silent treatment
« on: August 14, 2023, 08:34:27 AM »
After this weekends reality check on the pitch, the general feeling that everything is not quite right off the pitch , we now need someone from the club to tell us what the 'heck' is going on.

Since the departure of Christian Purslow we've been all over the place, from the badge issue, pricing, terrace view fiasco and poor quality kits and just general feeling of everything being up in the air.

Only Villa could finish 7th and find themselves in European competition with a fresh new start on the horizon only to mess the whole thing up in typical fashion.

Heck hasn't introduced himself to the supporters and it seems nobody else can be bothered to tell us their thinking behind vital decisions being made at the top.

Not a thing from them before the opener

It’s one bad result.

And there is not a “ general feeling that everything is not quite right off the pitch” anywhere other than in your head.

You can tell we lost, Wilma's fella uses it for one of his rants.

As most of those things he is complaining about would have actually been under Purslows reign, does he want to know why we are continuing them?

If the club make any sort of statement the first responses from the more negative supporter will be along the lines of “don’t tells us, show us” and “talk is cheap”.

Genuine question has Heck formally introduced himself via a press conference or Q&A.

I like the fact that he doesn’t seek the limelight but it’d be interesting to hear his early thoughts and what he sees as his responsibilities.

Indeed. My reaction was, yawn.

The work that Heck did in the states was phenomenal; the fact that he hasn't popped round to Bedrock to meet the natives and that we lost on Saturday does not sway me from the optimism that I have for this season.

I agree. It's obvious the problem on Saturday was the confusion over which way the lion was facing on the badge. It was also very clear from how the players reacted to Mings' injury that they're not happy about the pricing for Conference playoff tickets. Unless someone off the pitch starts thinking of the working class fan we're doomed to a season of results like this.

People 'demanding' club statements all the time is utterly ridiculous.  Flin, you're becoming a parody of yourself and it's beyond boring now.

I think those of us who grew up with the publicity-lovingDoug Ellis expect those at the top of the club to be shoving their faces into the public arena constantly. It isn't necessarily like that at other clubs. Christian Purslow was another exception in the Doug mould.

I thought the lion symbolised Saturday’s second half performance - we didn’t know whether we were coming or going.

Perhaps he should come onto the pitch before the Everton game and complete a lap of the pitch before giving a speech. I’m sure you saw what happened at Small Heath, well, the same as that.

I'm not interested in the boring nonsense the club come out with. Or not

Just win you fuckers and cheer us all up!
