I don't rate Bailey that highly myself but he wasn't even on the pitch when we capitulated on Saturday. Tielemans came on at half time when we were still very much in the game and did nothing. I know it was his first run out and people have been tired of Bailey for a long time, but I don't think it's as clear cut as some would like it to be.
The capitulation started in the 1st minute

Thats rubbish really isn’t it.

well no, we looked fragile every time they came forwards . The midfield was being overrun from the start .

Carlos and Torres are big boys now, experienced and expensive too, and should be up to the responsibility and challenge of starting together in this game. That said, I do think it would be harsh on Konsa to drop him, after just one bad game, especially given all that was unfolding in that game. So he too deserves to be given the responsibility and challenge of playing alongside a new centre back. So I'd have Konsa and Torres at centre back, and Cash and Digne full backs.

And they also looked vulnerable to us when we attacked, capitulation from the 1st minute indicates that we weren’t in the game at all, which isn’t accurate.

Is Dendoncker still injured? And Duran? If so, what is exactly wrong with them? 1-1.

You do realise Tielemans (who you bizarrely keep bringing up) wasn't the only sub we made?

But he was the player who came on for Bailey, which makes it extremely appropriate to mention him in this conversation, and every other time people are acting like Bailey was the main reason we lost on Saturday.

Your insistence on defending Tielemans against an imaginary grudge is quite funny.

Martinez, Cash, Carlos, Torres, Digne, Luiz, Kamara, McGinn, Tielemans, Diaby, Watkins

Lets just play Carlos/Torres, they cost a lot of money and came with good reputations, we need to play them. Everton at home, Burnley away, Palace at home and a couple of euro games against Hibs should be a not too difficult run to bed them in.

In total agreement with you. Also if there were any option at all to drop Kamara like for the Donk or even Chambers I'd be for that. Just think it would send the right message to the whole squad that the performance last weekend was completely unacceptable to see the likes of Konsa and Kamara dropped. They certainly couldn't have any complaints.
How managers react to a defeat like that is very important, Gerrard would come out and say there will be major changes, pick the same team and fail again.
UE has no choice, he has to solve the centre half situation but what he does with the rest is any ones guess.

Think we all realised Gerrard, aswell as being tactically inept, was a complete spoofer that time. Was it away at Newcastle too?

Tricky one for UE, hard decision to replace Mings and more importantly his presence at the back, I don't think it's as simple as swapping Torres in. Dycheball could have a field day on Konsa/Torres, I'd like to see Carlos come in for that reason alone.

If reports are correct we are trying to move on our LB from last week so that might give him an out to try Torres there. UE made a complete mess of the midfield setup last week but there isn't an obvious replacement for Ramsey really in that role on the left either.

Its not me getting on a new players back after his first 45 minutes. There were also another 10 players out there. Your wierd fixation on one player is very odd.

Dyche will have them try to bully us with crap like Tarkowski, Keane et al and big buggers in the middle such as Onana and Decoure and he would of seen how this worked against Newsaudi.

We need to play through them which we have been (up till Saturday) really good at. Also we need to be clever with the industrial arial bombardment we should expect.

                            Martinez

Konsa        Carlos            Torres             Digne

                   Luiz            Kamara

       McGinn                             Tielemans

                          Diaby

                                  Watkins

Subs:

Olsen
Zaniolo
Bidace
Bailey
Coutinho
Cash
Chambers
Archer

If we get our heads on then that should be strong enough

After such an awful result last week (which I maintain flattered the shit out of Saudi Arabia) we need to get back on track.  I don't think it'll be as easy as some hope, because it very rarely is in this league, but I think we will bounce back with a win.

as things stand i can't see us keeping a clean sheet so it will be a case of trying to outscore them

I don't have a fixation on him. You seem to though.

I mentioned him once, jokingly, in relation to Barnes and Maddison having better starts at their new clubs. You took that very personally.

Then I mentioned him again in relation to being the player that replaced Bailey, and now this most recent one, which again, is relevant.

I have not once said he's shit, or that I don't rate him, or he should be taken out and shot. Once again it's a case of someone ignoring what's actually being said but still replying to it like you've got a point to make.

Why mention him at all in relation to Bailey? Bailey is going into his third season and some fans are still not convinced. That's fine, I get that. Tielemans plays the second half in his first game and your response is that he wasn't much better. Weird.

Anyway, let's leave it at that shall we?
