Good to see Torres come on and inside a couple of minutes send one of their players to fetch the paper, advance halfway up the pitch and play a lovely pass.

The Mings injury takes prominence over everything in that half for me. Gutting.

I mean back then we lost terribly to a team who were everyone's favourites to go down and despite exceeding those expectations they still finished 16th.

Like them or not but Newcastle deservedly finished top 4 and have good players all over the park and can win in different ways.

We are still in it and the disruption with the serious injuries isn't helping either although Pau has looked composed on the ball which is nice to see at least.

We need Tielemans on. He's got that quality the game is missing, and will enable us to put some pressure on them. Bailey has been abysmal. As usual.

Not our finest half so far. Their 2nd a mile offside. I haven't missed the diving, play acting or general crapness of officiating and commentary. Still in it but team looks bit off it so far. Bad injury to Tyrone too.

Hmm - seemed to lack the calm and composure we have had normally under Unai.

We have been bullied by them, which hasn't helped, and having Mings crocked for the foreseeable means that could be an issue this season.

Mings is a big blow - unfortunately, similar to last season we make a couple big signings but then lose a couple of players through injury.  Seems to be very much 2 steps forward 1 back in the squad building front.

How Andy Hinchliffe gets work I have no idea.

Still well in this - but our squad has taken a real battering this week.

Yes what a turn that was. Lovely bit of skill.

2 bad goals to give away but we should really be winning this. We look the much better footballing team but in front of goal it’s that lethal edge that we badly need.
Look good in possession but that injury to Mings is a proper kick between the legs. We have to invest there and if that’s at the expense of anywhere else then so be it.
What have we done to deserve these injuries? Still, we are still in it and if Bailey comes into the game then we have a chance.

Mings - gutted for him, but now we get to see Pau.

Bailey - waste of space.  Emery must see something in training, but my goodness he’s bad.

Cash should be on a yellow as should Kamara.

Emi better be careful especially if we need to time waste at the end

Cash responsible for them being onside for their second goal.
