My Godson and my sort of Godson are on their first proper road trip today up to the North East and it's made me proper nostalgic for all those Saturday mornings on the road up and down the country, I'm tearing up a bit but that's only because I recall listening to DLT on R1 when we were traveling.

Quack, quack, oops. (One for the teenagers there)

We will have to be spot on this afternoon with our defensive high line that we keep. Isak, along with both Barnes and Gordon are pretty pacy players so I do see Newcastle playing balls over the top.
Preferably, I would like us to go with a back four to start with both Cash and Digne on either side.

I do think we have enough to go there and win, so I predict a 2-1 Villa win.

I would line up something like:

                            Martinez
Cash      Konsa                       Mings       Digne

                             Kamara

         McGinn           Luiz          Tielemans

                   Diably

                             Watkins

Parked up with stage one of the journey complete. 3.5 hours from West Wales to Warwick to meet 3 other intrepid Bournemouth Lions to continue the journey north. Hopefully better start than last year...

I think we are well capable of getting a result
If we don’t and we lose it will probably be because of the ball over the top

We are early and have just reached Doncaster and it feels a long way ahead already, but nothing in comparison to that trip!

I'm feeling ok about today. Hope and expectation are balanced with pragmatism and history.

Tough one to call.

We should at the very least be a completely different proposition to last time we played up there.

I'd be more than happy with a draw today. Just don't want to start the season with a defeat.

We're 19% to win on Google. Don't know how they reckon that, I'm on about 55%
