Looks like Louie Barry is back in some form of training this week;

https://the72.co.uk/2024/03/25/big-boost-stockport-county-boss-shares-injury-latest-on-aston-villa-loanee-louie-barry/

Not ready to play, but you'd think if they didn't feel he had a chance of returning to the line-up this season he'd have come back to us.

*STOP THE PRESS*

John Townley
@johntownley11
Aston Villa have signed highly-rated 16yo George Hemmings from Nottingham Forest. The midfielder - who has represented England at U16 level - will initially link up with the club's U18s.

Keep em coming, in the long term it's signings like this that will define how far we can go, if we can make a steady profit from kids like this and have a few break into the first team squad then we can save the big money for 'marquee' signings and let the squad depth develop more naturally.

Has signed his first professional contract. https://twitter.com/academyavfc/status/1776214714936144316

Not sure if I’ve missed it, but if not I’m surprised no-one has posted about us getting to the Birmingham Senior Cup final. We’ve got Racing Warwick apparently. Where’s Dave Cooper when you need him?

Me'n'joe were talking about that last night and we didn't know - it just happened.

Entered Birmingham Senior Cup last season too amd maybe the one before.

Beat Coventry 3-1 in the Semis.

Not sure where and when the Final against Racing Warwick will be?

Villa won 5-3 tonight. Moore with a couple and I think Pierre as well.

Wondered who he was but we signed him for a record fee apparently.

I think its a bit off signing players from teams other than West Brom.

I watched Villa play in the Senior Cup this season, at Sutton Town. One of the fellas there said it was the second season we'd put a team in.

I like the look of him, could be another option in the JJ role in a year or 2.

Pierre always struck me as being on the small side.

Has he shot up recently?

(Not a drug reference, btw)

Louie Barry, the man with all the vowels, has said that he's not going away at the end of Stockport's season, and will be joining our first team until the end of the season.

"I’m going back to Villa, I’m missing the lads’ holiday, I’m going back to Villa with the first-team so hopefully I can show the gaffer there what I can do."

Fair play to the kid trying to get himself in front of the manager. Not sure it will do him much good for Villa first team football, but I respect his effort.

If things go our way and we get 4th spot done with a couple of games to spare, he might get a bit of game time if he impresses in training.

What are the rules regarding that? I assumed his registration will stay with Stockport until the window opens.
