If anyone is just catching up with this news and doesn't have time to wade through all the posts since it broke, there's a handy 3 page summary on SHA. We're apparently fucked and we might get relegated.

They should be more concerned with what's going in their packed lunch they're taking to Coventry.

‘ABC de Sevilla has spoken with the sporting director’s entourage, who confirmed his departure, claiming that his career has come to an end and that he now intends to rest and focus on his project in his homeland. Monchi founded CD San Fernando 1940 with his son Alejandro, Sergio, and René Ramos, taking over from the now-defunct San Fernando CD

According to Talksport we had first dibs on Ascensio who ended up going to Turkey and that pissed off Emery and Monchi. They also said we were in for Rashford but that didn't happen either. Rashford must think Barcelona was a better option than us for some reason.

Was it the finances at the time that prevented Ascensio.

Rashford well not an offer anyone turns down
Probably right re: Ascensio. At that point Monchi must of thought that he was wasting his time all thanks to PSR and the UEFA version.

Will be interesting to see if Tanswell can shed any light on the situation later today.

Bit conflicted on it all to be honest and feel as though it's all come about because of the horrific summer window. I'll feel more at ease if it turns out Emery pushed for/sanctioned it.

We need to consign this season to the reset pile and get someone cutthroat in who will face our financial woes head on. This poking the tiger approach as a trade off for success only works if we get it. There's been no longevity to our financial strategies the past 2/3 years and it's caught almost everyone off guard whilst we've been having a piss up.

🚨🟣🔵 Understand Real Sociedad director Roberto Olabe is among top candidates for Aston Villa director job.

Internal talks ongoing to replace Monchi who will leave the club with immediate effect.

This summer we thought we'd be getting Asensio, at a push Rashford, a centre half and a Right Back as well as a winger.

We got Elliott, Guessand, Lindelhof, no right back, and Sancho.

I suspect, with all the stories, that we expected Bailey, Buendia, Martinez and a bunch of others who don't trouble the first team (like Hause, Dendoncker, Coutinho) to go yet they didn't go when we wanted them to. I think Asensio not coming really pissed Emery off, and then not getting Canvot didn't help matters either.

Ramsey is the key, and the straw that broke the camel's back. He didn't want to go, the players didn't want him to go, and neither did Emery, and when you're wheeling and dealing like that, you're just pissing everyone off.

This decision will cleanse things, the players will have trust in Emery, and Vidagany, for resolving it and things will improve.

so basically, the recruitment guys got no-one Emery needed.

heads should rightly roll.

I still want to hear Unai is ok with this, and this isn't the beginning of the end of his reign

It'll most likely come out in the wash in some form this week.

If it doesn't, well that'd be a worry.
