Vinnie - In your opinion do you think Emery and Monchi had fallen out?

…and therefore we can safely speculate that this was done with Emery’s blessing?

In my own opinion (based on a few bits) this will not have happened without emerys nod

Also think monchi aint that bothered by it and also feels time is right

It wont be knee jerk to us starting season crap, its been on cards for a while and how certain things have been handled.

If i was speculating why now, down to current players. Too many directly pissed off with him from how he tried (and in some cases succesfully) to get people of the door this summer
So, player power then ?

That’s a very dangerous road to be on.

Important to read the whole thing. If Vinnie's right, and if not only Emery but also Monchi himself are OK with it, then it's hardly the squad forcing their will on the club. Besides, the squad are also entitled to their own point of view as an important bloc within the club (their mood is the most important thing, in fact), so it's hardly insane to take them into account sometimes.

May be but I bet their fans don't get on a player's back having seen them play twice.

According to Talksport we had first dibs on Ascensio who ended up going to Turkey and that pissed off Emery and Monchi. They also said we were in for Rashford but that didn't happen either. Rashford must think Barcelona was a better option than us for some reason.

If it's player power then it's the only decent thing they've done so far this season. It was obvious to anyone without blinkers that the Summer was a total mess. Lindelof and Sancho on the last day of the window was laughable business. Guessand on the wages he's on and Ł30m, laughable. 2 good buys in years. He's been on borrowed time papered over by the talents and dedication of Mr Emery.

It's not as easy as just importing a recruitment team. I remember when Leicester won the league Everton ended up taking their recruitment team that had unearthed title winning players for pennies. What happened to Everton?

Was it the finances at the time that prevented Ascensio.

Rashford well not an offer anyone turns down

He hadn't heard of Highters Heath before he made his decision.

One transfer this summer really stood out for me, the young lad we signed and immediately put out on loan with an option to buy. A real WTF moment.

From the lad's comments he sounded like he had no idea that this was the plan, and that's just callous stuff.

Pre PSR and Everton had bucketloads of money and did they spend it, largely badly. Allardyce, Koeman, Silva, Ancelotti.....

We currently have constraints so maybe not such a bad punt - I am not a cheerleader just circumstances are different.

This summer we thought we'd be getting Asensio, at a push Rashford, a centre half and a Right Back as well as a winger.

We got Elliott, Guessand, Lindelhof, no right back, and Sancho.

I suspect, with all the stories, that we expected Bailey, Buendia, Martinez and a bunch of others who don't trouble the first team (like Hause, Dendoncker, Coutinho) to go yet they didn't go when we wanted them to. I think Asensio not coming really pissed Emery off, and then not getting Canvot didn't help matters either.

Ramsey is the key, and the straw that broke the camel's back. He didn't want to go, the players didn't want him to go, and neither did Emery, and when you're wheeling and dealing like that, you're just pissing everyone off.

This decision will cleanse things, the players will have trust in Emery, and Vidagany, for resolving it and things will improve.

If anyone is just catching up with this news and doesn't have time to wade through all the posts since it broke, there's a handy 3 page summary on SHA. We're apparently fucked and we might get relegated.

I must say, I never thought I'd see the day when a player's form was based on who the sporting director was. Long way away from Cloughie or Saunders, aren't we?
