Alemany left Barca in Sept 2023, not long after rejecting Villa's overtures.

Seem to recall that he was supposedly on his way, then he wasn't.

Doesn't appear to have done anything since then.

I know Stan had his mental health struggles but the interested, informed way he and Agbonlahor to a lesser extent, talk about the Villa now; you wish they had half that passion when they actually played for the club.

Monchi didn't sign Tielemans either.

Absolute shit recruitment by and large I'm glad he's gone. Got found out big time.

A few months ago we had FV on here talking about "Monchi Magic". The moderators got rid and everything has fallen apart since. Jim Morrison's band on a helter-skelter.

Losing Bad English, Risso, Dogtanian and FV has been an even bigger blow for the forum than JJ, Bailey and, er Olsen and Coutinho leaving the Villa. Turbulent Twenty Twenty Five. LeeB even posts with the disinterest of a Morgan Rogers performance these days. Something ain't right.

I worry about this. Still we have no real idea whether this is done against Unai's wishes or with his full support. The former would have been unthinkable even a few weeks ago but who knows.

Let's hope he takes the departure of a 'mate' from the club rather better than the players did.

Jacob Ramsey with a rye smile pulling out his best whiskey out of the cabinet tonight.

FTFY

Why you.

I’m sure the real story will come out over the next few days. Got to be some serious questions about his transfer record, only three resounding successes out of 20+.  I also wonder whether his efforts- noble though they were - saving another football club during what was a critical summer for us was the best look in front our owners.

What will be interesting to see is of the Monchi departure has any impact on team performance. Did his presence and intimate involvement in player movement, especially this summer cause a fracture between the squad and management team. Maybe this was the compromise to get us back on track. Nothing concrete he was fired. Maybe Monchi was convinced to fall on his sword for the greater good.

It’s as convincing a theory as I’ve heard from any source. It sounds like he’s not managed the “you can go if we get the right money” discussions with players/agents at all well which has pissed off too many people for the owners not to have noticed or been informed.

The postings of Mings and Mcginn after the Ramsey sale alluded to things not being right behind the scenes.

On the whole I have no real qualms about Monchi going. I think our recruitment has been lazy and poor given the financial restrictions we are under.
If you a very limited on what you can spend, you have to be cute….. have we been cute with the fees (where applicable) and salaries for Guessand, Sancho, and Lindelof, amongst others ?

That said, if senior players are playing their faces, sulking and showing ‘player power’ and thereby forcing removal of a major part of the management team, is that a healthy situation to be in ?
If indeed, that’s what might have happened.
