You need to 'dab' to gain entry and I'll do Gangnam Style as the warm-up.

Haha.

In all seriousness (and in response to Drummonds 'this is embarrassing' post), he's absolutely right. Apologies for dragging the thread down into a childish squabble, I've been on here long enough to know better. I think from now on, DC is best ignored.

^^ you would have thought so. It was rumoured that we wanted Soule who also ended up moving somewhere else in the same window. Perhaps those two were valued too highly for a swap and we wanted more straight cash for the books, so took two players of less value.

It doesn't feel likely to me. There's no official body saying "Dean Huijsen is worth x and Enzo Barrenechea is worth y". As we demonstrated with all our Chelsea/ Everton jiggerypokery.

The most likely scenario is the obvious one, we're not particularly good at identifying new first team players and we decided that we had the LCB position tied up for the next five years in Pau Torres, so ignored a probable better version when he was on the table.

Sadly there is, UEFA have given themselves that right as part of the Squad Cost and Football Earnings rules. I suspect that's part of the reason why we ended up being punished as much as we were, because they revised down a bunch of our transfers of younger players, particularly Kellyman and Iroegbunam.

And no doubt they'll revise down a player from Aston Villa, and revise up the value of players from World Club Champions Chelsea, just because.

I presume, as part of a transfer, we can request a valuation from UEFA prior to completing it.

Yes he was. Apparently he was told that before the deal fell through.
