Let's hope we can play hard ball.

Rashford on a £5m deal?

more likely Shaw, Mount or a couple of their other stiffs

Hands up if you think Mount would do well under Unai.

Just me?

Wouldn't be against it, were it not for his injury record which makes Onana look like Ollie Watkins.

You can't play hardball, softball, medium spongy ball or any other consistency of ball when there's a release clause.

The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. And kicks you square in the bollocks as well, for a laugh. Fucks sake.

Youri has been great for us and is leaving on a high after that goal in Istanbul. I'd like to wish him well but I'll find that impossible given who he's leaving us for.

This is a tough one, but at least we have time to sort a replacement, and he is replaceable, albeit really important to how we play

We won't know exactly how bad or good this is before we see the rest of our business.

And we see how much/well Youri plays next season following a summer of World Cup football.

This is very bad news considering the fee and how important Youri is to the way we play. But if that's the release clause whadyagonnado?

Surprised the clause hasn't been more widely circulated amongst those richer than us over the years he's been here. Thanks for everything and all that.

£35 million release clause is fucking pathetic, Villa. Which twat negotiated that? I don't mind if it's abroad but not to those scum.

Maybe that’s what he demanded to stick around and sign that last contract. I thought he took a wage cut also to keep us in line with PSR also.

Now I've read the thread, the speculation that any release clause reduces over the period of the contract would make sense as to why now. Arsenal were heavily linked when we got him weren't they?

I don't know why he'd want to go to Man Utd.

Hopefully this starts a bidding war.

Can somebody impersonate Tielemans' agent and give Arsenal a call - telling them he''d much prefer North London to a Shed on a Trading Estate

I don't know why he'd want to go to Man Utd.

When Emi was linked last year with them they weren’t a CL side so it felt a little odd why he’d go there in his 30s. It’s different now. However you slice they are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and being back in the CL and seemingly a little more stable football wise (Carrick vs Amorim) they are going to be an attractive proposition. He’s a great addition to their side which has a lot of very good players. He will make them better.
