I love me some positive stats.....

Only two points less than Sir Brian's 4th place in 1996. Level on points with Sir Brians 5th place in 1997 but one win more. The only Villa side to win more Premier League games is BFRs 1993 runners up team.
This is a better season in terms of wins and points than anything achieved by ONeill.

I’m more bothered by these upstarts, who TF do they think they are!

“Dreadful performance from the referee, clearly not up to it. Couldn’t handle all the fouling out there and his decisions were totally random at times. Not a good performance today, we looked sluggish at times, we really need to find a way to overcome these teams like Villa, Newcastle, Everton and Forest who play dirty, direct football roared on by a ferocious crowd, we seem to crumble in these type of games.”

😳

Actually I'm wrong, ONeill managed more in his last two seasons but barely -  62 and 64. This has been more enjoyable though.

We could draw Astana which would be far enough.

Apparently eveton just avoiding the drop is are more newsworthy than our incredible season. Sky really are twats.

Don't worry mate, when this settles down and it's a slow news day, someone in Sky will realise over his cornflakes that the real story of the season is the job Unai Emery has done with Aston Villa.

Got plenty of coverage on Final Score including a pitch side interview with SJM.

Last October I thought we’d be where Everton were today regardless of who our manager was. The appointment of Emery was a master stroke and the Villa are back!

Well done Villa superb stuff, once again we have seen the game out, under Unai. something we often didn't do in the past. JJ MOTM quality today, best performance of the season, mentions also for Dougie and SJM excellent. Only criticism I had was Digne should be first choice, when it comes to free kicks.
