If we are going to measure the finest of margins by the use of technology then it’s about time that time itself is taken out of the hands of officials. The argument for VAR is that is meant to rule out costly errors that ultimately provide advantages to those who benefit from erroneous decisions. Then the same can be said for adding on time arbitrarily versus playing to precisely 90 minutes. The costs of adding ludicrous amounts of time leading to late events needs to be evaluated in the same way on field decisions are.

I watched MOTD, and it does seem that more minutes were added on across the board.

I remember when we played Boro at VP when Southgate was in charge, and by today's standards 15 or 20 minutes would have been added.

The officials are wholly complicit in the lost time during games.
Every free kick, throw in and corner takes an age to be completed, yet it is allowed to continue.
Restarts after goals are even worse.

It’s officials who allow time wasting, they can so easily sort it out during the game and thereby take away their ability to affect the outcome of a game by adding tons of additional time on.

Why not enforce a rule where you have a maximum of 5-10 seconds for restarts. And for a defending team touching the ball after the whistle has been blown its a booking.

If arbitrary decisions are now being made about which round of fixtures get the full allotted time, then I'm an advocate of going down the route other sports have.  The duration of every game is determined by a clock on the screen that is stopped everytime there is a stoppage in play.

Ridiculous over officiating for the sake of it. Time wasting is not an issue unless you believe it is unfair when the opposition do it and perfectly reasonable when you employ it yourself, i.e your a big fucking baby who can't cope with losing.
