Fuck me. The OS has a summary of the Presser: Emery previews United.

Why are we buying into this shit? Manchester United.

grrrr, Purslow Out!

Grrrrrrr, press conference. Drummond out!

I was quoting the OS headline! (omitted quotation marks!)

The worst kind of half and half scarves are the ones sold outside our own ground where we're labelled as "Aston V."

Someone needs to have a word with those people and tell them to put "Villa" instead if they must peddle their vile merch.

I guess the other half for this weekend will be Manilla?

My mate Patrice insists on calling us 'Aston' and uses the TV abbreviation 'AVL'. Drives me nuts on WhatsApp he does. He'd buy a half and half scarf too.

Wouldn't be the first time brown envelopes have been seen at Old Trafford*.

I have only bought one of those shite half and half scarves once and that was for my mates lad who was recovering from a liver transplant, they are Ipswich fans and we played them in the FA cup about 2012 I think and Paul asked me to get him one.

I felt dirty just asking for it...LOL

I used to have a friend who wasn't in to football (but was into motorsport - I don't know him anymore), who would always ask me how "the Vill" were getting on. Weirdo.

The better football media is starting to take note...

Quote
Manager to watch – Unai Emery

No team outside the top two has gathered more Premier League points than Villa since Emery took over. Which begs the question: what the f*** was Steven Gerrard doing with these players?

Regardless, Emery encounters a rematch of his first game in charge this weekend when he takes Villa to Manchester United. They go to Old Trafford firmly in the hunt for a European place, having already played the Red Devils off the park once this season.

Emery has improved every aspect of Villa’s play. They have scored in all 20 games since he took over and, in their current 10-game unbeaten run, they have kept seven clean sheets. It goes way beyond a new-manager bounce – the improvement Emery has inspired appears sustainable.

At Old Trafford, their watertight defence comes up against an attack without a fit-for-purpose centre-forward and a defence shorn of its two best centre-halves. Thoughts and prayers with Harry Maguire if Ollie Watkins turns in the type of performance that destroyed Newcastle’s back line a fortnight ago.

There are no circumstances in which half and half scarves are not an abomination to anyone who supports a particular club. In my view God should bring His smiting up to date.

In my experiences they’re worn mainly by away supporters trying to mingle. I once said to one such person that his H&H scarf was not a cloak of invisibility.
