They'll win by more penalties than us.

They'll win by cheating.

My prediction too.

Wow, those players must have thought it was a piece of piss. Are any of them still alive waiting to witness the next time?!

Peter McParland, but not sure if he played in those games. I'm sure there's a bigger Villa hoodoo at the forefront of his mind.

He joined in 1952 but missed both games played a day after each other on 26th/27th December 1954. He had played in the previous fixture in March 1954 and in the game after, a 4-4 draw at VP.

Cheers, I knew he'd been at Villa for a couple of years and was already an international, but didn't know if he'd played in those games.

I’d rather start 0-1 down and have a straight referee than what we will get.

Who is the ref, by the way?

If Fernandes does play then between him and Buendia we might set Opta records for whinges per 90. xW off the scale.

Varane will still be out too, I'm very excited at the thought of new Villa attacking Maguire and Lindeloff.

Maguire, a player that SVC thinks we should sign this summer...

Any of our injured in contention?

The problem you have is there is some behind the scenes vindictive scumbag still smarting over us denying them the domestic treble in 1994. Hence all the bent decisions - especially at VP. That one where they were trying to find something - anything to disallow a perfectly legitimate goal showed you. Rat boy's non-penalty under that magnificent Smith win another example.

Im going for a 1-1 draw and a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed re wet spam v 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' last night as a bent decision favouring the sky faves.

I'm still hugely pissed off that what could easily have been a red card for a shin high tackle on Konsa was given as a penalty to Fernandes. The FA decision to disallow the goal was a disgrace as well, if it takes you 5 minutes to find something, anything, then it's not really clear and obvious is it?

Our best bet is to just go at them like we did against Newcastle. Get to three nil up and the inevitable VAR bollocks for them won't matter. Try to keep it tight and a last minute dodgy penalty when it's 0-0 will really smart.

Jarrod Gillett. Andy Robertsons mate is on the line.

I'm still pissed off about Vidic not getting sent off in the League Cup Final.
