Villa - Fulham post match thread
« on: April 25, 2023, 09:54:23 PM »
Nobody else seems to be starting one, so here ya go.

Another fantastic result.  The pressure is mounting now and I thought we looked a bit tired in the second half.  We could really do with some of the injured players coming back for the weekend game, not sure how realistic that is.

Anybody else looking at the table this evening and wondering; how are we here, imagine where weld be if we’d had Emery from the start, and maybe, just maybe… It’s some achievement is this.

5th, 26 points out of 30. There's been worse times to be a Villa fan.

Thing is, this was probably our easiest game left.

Won,clean sheet. Kept it tight, probably because we were tired. A good night. If we can get one or two back for Sunday I fancy us.

Totally dominant first half, totally not second half. A clean sheet though, and up to 5th. Lovely.

I'll take a scrappy 1-0 win any day.

Give Emery whatever he wants. He'll win us the league eventually.

First half was a tactical masterclass.. possession seemed to be 95 - 5 %.

We tired in the second half and Fulham made some good adjustments. Glad to grind out a win at home and keep the clean sheet.

5th in the table boys - enjoy it!

Emery really is the business isn't he?  Poor performance or not this is some achievement to be where we are considering the position we were in when he arrived.  Well done to all concerned in giving us back the joy that is Villa.

Scored in 20 straight games, 10 unbeaten, 7 clean sheets in those 10, 5 straight home wins. Welcome to the new Villa.

We looked knackered in the second half, although the team is resolute - for all their possession and running, Fulham had one attempt and zero on target.

Think we need some players back now though, Sunday will be very difficult and Ash will be suspended I think? Had his 5th booking tonight.

Those that couldn't get a train tonight will count themselves lucky. Still, 3 points but we're going to have to dramatically improve against the Plastics or it could be nasty. Too many players tonight just no on it, no more so than Ramsey, Buendia and  Watkins.

Not a game for Ollie, hardly touched the ball second half. McGinn was everywhere and Mings was excellent. Moreno was poor second half as was Ramsey. Bert decent enough when he came on.

Great win - we really need some players back - Unai just has no options and limits what he can do.

I thought we we're brilliant in the first half - never really looked threatened at any point - but I thought Beundia was poor - ollie hardly got a kick, and ramsey struggled to make an impact

McGinn and Luiz good all game, Moreno excellent first half - Konsa, Emi and Mings look composed and in control.
