Here's the relevant bit, it's about 2minutes long (and I apologise for the insufferable prick who's hosting it).

&t=1035s

Blimey Paul, 'relevant'! Took them a hundred years to stop just making vaguely smug animali noises.

That Devine really fancies himself the next James Richardson doesn't he? And he's close, all he's missing is the charm, the wit, the knowledge, the talent, the ability to focus...

The presenter is doing a really bad impersonation of David Mitchell doing a funny parody of a cheesy football presenter, without any of the irony…that was just pins in my eyes and ears!!! However, useful (or not) their analysis is, i can never put myself through that again, its just made me irrationally annoyed and not about anything they said about Villa, i couldn’t even concentrate on that.
I get why people don't like them.  Joe Divine tries a bit too hard to be witty and the style isn't for everyone.

But if you cut through that I've always thought that the Tifo presenters are very good with their analysis.  I pretty much agree with everything they say on this video and once you get past the indignation of them not believing we're the second best team in the league, they are actually very complimentary about us.  I felt pretty much the same about the video last week that got so many fans worked up with the word lucky but ignoring the fairly detailed tactical analysis.

For me it's nice that we're in the conversation, and I'd rather have this sort of coverage than be largely ignored, which is the usual position.

Think this is where i'm at. As someone else said, they do seem to watch football a bit like it's some sort of spreadsheet exercise and doesn't involve real people and emotions but their tactical analysis is normally pretty insightful. They are right on one point though, we're not the second best team in the country. We're obviously the best team...

The chap in the grey thinks he's being amusing but he's just coming over as sinister.

He is abit of a more smug  Christopher Biggins ,

I was thinking Tony Hadley has let himself go. Musclebound he ain't.

That blokes smug face in the thumbnail puts me off. He reminds me of the chubby kid at school who smelled of lard, had sticky hands and whose dad was a proper bellend who worked at jaguar. Or wish.com mark from peep show.

Love them or loathe them, a bunch of comfortably middle class mummies boys have become the obsession for a Brentford v Villa  discussion forum

Fuck them!

Brentford 1 Aston Villa  2.

I think stuff like Tifo has value up to a point. But it’s the sort of show that would smugly tell you that it would be unsustainable for Arjen Robben to keep cutting in off the right flank on his left foot because eventually teams are going to work it out and stop him.And using stuff like XG; you look at our game Saturday and apparently our expected goals was less than 2 which is perhaps the biggest load of nonsense I can recall of late. And as we’ve seen with Horse Face, spreadsheets can’t make you identify and take decisive action when it’s needed most.

Beardy bald XG features has looks like he has an extensive collection of St Pauli shirts, and of late probably bores people stiff twatting on about Union Berlin.

That ****** sat in the middle looks like some sort of odd Patrick Bamford / Jonathon Woodgate doppelganger mash up.

Easily the worst is that smug ****** presenting, though. As someone said, he clearly fancies himself as a James Richardson type.

He also looks like "I know the face, but I can't recall his name" actor, Mark Benton.

xG is a metric based on chance creation more than goal scoring, it's effectively designed to replace shots/shots on target. As with shots/shots on target there are some rough guidelines you can expect (7-8 shots and about 3 shots on target per goal) but that doesn't mean you NEED that many or that reaching those numbers will guarantee goals, it's just a guideline to give you an idea of how well things are going.

Have ever had a point here ?

Yes. 2-0 in 1947, 4-2 in 1939 and 2-1 in 1935. Since we reacquainted ourselves in 2016 no, nothing. Four straight away defeats.

But no worries, just something else for Emery to tick off his list. I can see Frank and Emery getting on quite well off the pitch. Nerdy Emery will help Frank with his scouting homework while hip dude Frank will introduce Unai to Swedish 21 year olds.

One stat that should be identified and given more merit than a shot off target are shots that hit the woodwork.  They should be given a higher factor in the xG stat too. I can't believe I'm actually discussing xG when we all know (most of us) it's bollocks.
