I'd feed that Joe Devine to a tropical centipede. Millimeter by millimeter. ******

Up the Villa!

In that follow up video, he goes on about Villa fans getting arsey because he said we were 'overperforming'.

It wasn't that that people were getting annoyed about, it was his repeated use of the word 'lucky'.

Also, what a horrific smug tone that entire podcast has (not just about us, I mean the presenters, the presentation style).

Lol, the thread on here was bad enough when somebody (I forget who) suggested we had some luck go our way in recent fixtures. And that’s just us placid H+V types.

Here's the relevant bit, it's about 2minutes long (and I apologise for the insufferable prick who's hosting it).

&t=1035s

Blimey Paul, 'relevant'! Took them a hundred years to stop just making vaguely smug animali noises.

That Devine really fancies himself the next James Richardson doesn't he? And he's close, all he's missing is the charm, the wit, the knowledge, the talent, the ability to focus...

The presenter is doing a really bad impersonation of David Mitchell doing a funny parody of a cheesy football presenter, without any of the irony…that was just pins in my eyes and ears!!! However, useful (or not) their analysis is, i can never put myself through that again, its just made me irrationally annoyed and not about anything they said about Villa, i couldn’t even concentrate on that.

They're all deeply annoying, especially the smug twat in grey. "Villa fans, do you honestly think that Villa are the second best team in the country since Emery arrived." Well yes, actually I do, because that's what the table says. We've beaten Man U, Spurs, Chelsea and Newcastle in that time and took the lead twice against Arsenal.

It's the implied condecension. We're well tuned into it because it's always been the case, whether it's Villa or Birmingham. We can't be leading the way in anything, no.

There was a piece by Jonathan Liew in about De Zerbi Brighton I posted the other week, crawling up his arse as he was spearheading a new tactical vanguard against the established pressing teams. He's done a great job yes, but I just sat reading it thinking 'yeah, that's what we do mate' and it's also how Emery disposed of Bayern in last seasons Champions League.

Only way to shut up all of these wankers is to win. We’ve not done enough of that in years. Nobody looks at our story a closely as we do so naturally they all think what’s happening is just a flash in the pan and lucky. Especially when you consider we only bought a full back and a forward prospect to add to a team everyone thought was a guarantee to be relegated back in November. So let them all be smug. We will just go about our business.

Anybody in analytics using “lucky” as an explanation, is probably lucky to have a job.

Brentford have only taken 5 points from last 6 games, which could indicate they have run out of steam. Still a tough match this.

My sentiments as well, as the big man said "Do you want to bet against us"

There is no way I am launching that video but can categorically and emphatically infer that they are proper country boys.
