The teenager turned 17 in October and has already played for Villa's Under-21s at the age of 15. Patterson, who has grown up in Wolverhampton, is a left-sided attacking midfielder with bundles of potential.

Villa rate Patterson very highly and will allow the youngster to move through the club's youth ranks with the aim of breaking into the first-team in the coming years having joined at the age of nine. He has already trained around the first-team and has represented England Under-17s.

Patterson is not a name that most supporters will be familiar with given the plethora of talent coming out of Bodymoor Heath at the moment, but he did travel with the club's Under-23s in an EFL Trophy victory at Burton Albion last season and came off the bench to make an appearance.

Capable of playing in a deeper role, such as full-back, Patterson signed a scholarship in July to join Villa’s Under-18s, before penning his first professional deal last year. He is now become a regular at Under-21 level.

We think Jack is an arsehole, which he is, but that Gordon lad is a disgrace. At least Jack had the decency to get us a decent fee and leave when we were safe. Gordon has been playing for five minutes and shit on Everton when they are struggling the most.
