I'm beginning to think that Mings and Konsa must be the two defenders in the Premier League who have most possession in the entire league. It's clearly an Emery trait - keeper to defender back to keeper to defender, then to the other defender and don't move it until their's a potential opening to deveop an attack. Sometimes not the most exhilarating process to witness but it seems to be getting results. And they seem to be getting better each week at doing it.

We’ve been playing out from the back long before Emery, so wouldn’t be surprised if the players have a preference for it.  I think the key difference since Unai arrived is that we seem to do it with more purpose, trying to draw the opposition in to create more space.  Save from the occasional brain fart from Martinez and Mings at times, i.e. playing out to Kamara when he’s already under pressure, it seems a better option than to just punt it out with the risk against better sides it’ll just keep coming back at us.

The problem yesterday was that Forest seemed reluctant to get drawn into a high press, and were more than happy to let us pass it around at the back.  I also have sympathy for the forward lines who got a load of criticism from folks sat near me for a lack of movement.  It takes a lot of resilience and stamina to keep up movement when you’re probably quite certain 9/10 balls will just go sideways or backwards.

The play off 2nd leg was a an example, but sweet Jesus that was heart in the mouth stuff.

Southgate was there yesterday, think he probably deliberately chose a game with a more high profile guest. I wonder if he found the time to have a word with Ollie about moving on.

Probably gutted that Ollie scored eventually. That’s if the wanker stayed all the way to the end of the game.

That'll be his excuse for not picking him next squad. He just didn't see his goals. Might as well have happened in Qatar or the MLS.

When should he have picked Ollie in the last 12 months and didn't? 6 months ago the majority on here were saying Ollie wasn't a PL player, had a shit first touch, was a shit finisher and was Championship standard at best. Plenty to batter Southgate over, Ollie isn't one of them.

Absolutely, couldn't agree more. However, the future Southgate will pick some Man City academy player over Ollie, and you just know it's true.

It's between Ollie and Tonev as to who is third choice striker behind Kane and Rashford. Pretty sure that's everyone's view including Southgate.

Why is an England manager picking a player guilty of gross misconduct?

Why has Toney not been punished yet?

Wouldn't put it past him, the absolute wanker.

Well, the last squad, possibly?

He went with Toney who has scored more goals, so hardly a snub to Ollie. Whether he should be picking Tonev in the first place with the betting stuff is another matter.

A third of Toney’s goals have been penalties. They all count of course, but they’re not the result of great individual play by him, and he’s not likely to supplant Kane as penalty taker.

He probably still had more league goals from open play than Ollie did when the last squad was announced, or at the very least sod all in it, so whoever was picked it was hardly a snub to the other.
