I particularly liked the “you’re going down with your Wi-Fi “ chant

Haha, brilliant.

That's up with there with Spurs fans singing "even your telly's shit" when the big screens went down at VP as they battered us, when we were indeed, a bit shit.

I think we should tone it down a bit on Bailey. He's part of a team that's beating all comers. If Emery keeps picking him and we keep winning then what's the problem?
Exactly Hillybilly. People are banging on about Barnes  being better than Bailey forget that Barnes is part of a team heading for the championship. He has contributed to their demise.

My concern with Barnes was he did very little in the second half.
A player that has moments but does not do it often enough.

I don't  know, Barnes is very good - that was his 10th goal this season in a struggling team....

Barnes is a good player, being in a struggling team doesn't make him shit. Same as Benteke, Delph, Grealish, Platt, Yorke, Daley and so on weren't shit even though they were parts of Villa sides that were shit.

Sign Harvey Barnes! Such great pace.
No. Despite his cameo tonight against an old man he is not consistent enough, he’s is good but not great, he’s not quite top international player so not better than likes of Bert and on his day Bailey.
And don’t forget his lack of contribution is part of the reason why Leicester are in serious trouble.

Harvey Barnes is MILES better than Bailey, it's not even close.
Hang on, let me assess this. Bailey plays regularly for a team heading up the table. Barnes plays for a team that's heading for the second division and he has played his part in that. I think answer is clear.

I didn't think Leicester were too bad and they caused us a few problems in the first half. They should be doing better than they are with the likes of Maddison and Barnes though. I think they'll be fine in the end, Southampton, Forest and Bournemouth for the drop.

Unfortunately, I think you're right mate.

5 months ago you could have said that about many of our players who weren’t performing to their actual ability. Very few of our players would have been targets for better sides. Even Emi pre WC heroics. I think Barnes is a super player, only just turned 25, who would improve with great coaching. Bailey is already getting great coaching and while others have improved he’s still struggling every game.

David Platt played in teams that were nearly relegated twice. The second time for a side that only won 9 games. And then moved for a massive fee. And was relegated. I don't think anyone doubts how good Platt was at that time depite the teams  he played for being shit a lot of the time.

Platt was a consistent contributor, Barnes is not. To compare the two is an insult to our former great player.

TV I respect your opinion but turning Barnes into reincarnation of Johan Cruyff is a bit OTT.

Six points off the Champions League places after the start to the season we had, absolutely incredible.

Another excellent away win - far from comfortable but the control and calmness in our play is something else. Watkins and McGinn great again, Luiz gliding around the pitch, finally an assist for Buendia and what a hit from Bert. Marvelous.

How the heart sings!

For the second successive game the entire Remy family jumps round the room in unison at a 2nd Villa goal. Such joyous celebrations.

Well played my team - you have my adoration- that twitter clip at the end nearly brings a tear, shades of our promotion season.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Bertie and felt he didn’t get a chance under the previous bonehead.

Can one of you bright buttons please post a tiny clip of Bertie’s goal - I want it printed on my conscience.

Madison (I think) tries a free kick to beat Emi at the near post, he catches it like you’d pick up your cat and waves a finger at him with a smile like don’t take the piss son, Messi can’t beat me from there.

Dougie Dougie - the reason they’re not pundit-w-fest over you is because your value to suitors would go sky high and will fail in a bid and wail mean Villa won’t let them buy you cheaply or even sell. No chance. Brazil are grateful beneficiaries too.

Watkins ever masterful - earlier this season the amount of chances he used to miss - I wanted him replaced! Glad no one listened - goal machine!

Mings clearance after clearance- what a beast.

Konsa - teeny bit slow on the pass but solid otherwise.

Young - enigma - bypassed way too easily for Barney’s goal but made up with play later, maybe should’ve come off straight after the red. Experienced head.

Bailey isn’t understanding Emery’s coaching or ideas he looks unsure when receiving the ball.

Still won without Kamara and Cash.

The football at times was mesmerising from us even the commentators had to acknowledge.

Ramsey wasn’t at his marauding best but still ran socks off.

King of Scotland was superb as well nearly got a dupe of his Chavski goal.

Great through ball by Buendia and thought Moreno had a good game too.

Those 2 VAR  calls - what an agonising wait each time but relief after.

I heard the away section throughout the game - wish I could’ve been there.

I’m going v Forest and have demanding wife, kids, job, parents, tasks etc but it’s all I can think about !

We don't need Barnes unless he is as effective on the right, which I highly doubt.

Pulisic (a long shot) or Bowen much better options.

I thought we controlled the game for large periods even before the sending off without really creating that much, still comfortably the better team though.

For them, Barnes had a great game, but nobody else really threatened. Their whole defensive unit from their goalkeeper onwards just ooze mediocrity.  They've also been carrying Vardy for the nostalgia value for too long and it's caught up with them this season. If they do stay up this season I'd fear for them next as they're bound to lose Tielemans, Barnes and Maddison and they'll really struggle to replace them.
