That decision to give the pnealty was a shocker, but then so was the free kick that led up to it. There was a coming together, the ref gave it to us, the crowd went mad, so he changed his mind and gave it to them. Abysmal.

Has there been an Unai post match interview yet?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXz_auQL7Rk

He's a bit special , and dare I say it knows what he's doing . He's got plenty in the bank for any future blips ( ironically like Tyrone and Mr Gerrard's  little spat !) Last time I mention our previous Boss ... honest !

Not sure Gerrard had enough in the bank to treat Mings the way hs did tbh, only my opinion though. Can't see Mings getting the captaincy back now anyway, simply due to his age now.

Credit for shutting down barnes in the second half too. Not sure what emery did but it worked.

Young got caught once and smart and experienced enough to stop it happening again. My mate thought he should've been subbed but he ended up getting their lad sent off.

We did enough, without creating much. Brilliant goal from Bert. Bailey offers nothing at the moment. We're in with a shout of the top 7.

How the ref gave a penalty I have no idea, an atrocious decision. He must have been 25 yards away.

What he did was to stop Faes from having all the time in the world to ping his 50 yard passes to Barnes.

Foxes talk is a lot of fun tonight. Oh how fickle they’ve become.  Vardy should never play for them again apparently.

He really shouldn't. Their keeper is dreadful too, Ndidi used to be a very good player but was awful tonight. Maddison was disappointing too. Barnes aside, I thought their two CBs were decent but they were poor everywhere else.

Just watched Barnes' goal again.  Great first touch, pace and strength to get past Young and a perfect finish.  Sign him up.

Great bit of play, his first touch took Young completely out the game.
I’ve always thought Maddison was a good player but he was very quiet tonight, didn’t help him or them that he was playing wide so couldn’t really influence the game, oh well!

I have no idea why the ref was sent to the screen, when it was obvious from the first viewing that it wasn't a penalty.  I don't know why the VAR official didn't just say to the ref that it wasn't a pen.

What a strike to win it by Traore though.  Made it a bit tougher than it needed to be at times, but what a way to win it!!

Even the Leicester fans I was sat with were saying it was the worst decision they'd seen.

Sign Harvey Barnes! Such great pace.
No. Despite his cameo tonight against an old man he is not consistent enough, he’s is good but not great, he’s not quite top international player so not better than likes of Bert and on his day Bailey.
And don’t forget his lack of contribution is part of the reason why Leicester are in serious trouble.

I don't think that is how VAR works in those cases. If the ref decides on a decision on the field, he has to be shown evidence his judgment might be wrong via the screen, VAR can't overrule him directly. It is only in the absolute like an offside that an instant override without a video review is valid. Judgement calls are still down to the referee.

So in this case, all VAR could do is state that "they didn't see the foul he indicated for the reason for the Penalty and in fact Watkins appeared to get there first and was actually fouled. Why don't you look yourself?"

Someone on the right wing might be a better option, Bowen or Johnson.

It’s still a subjective decision and VAR can on recommend, the actual decision must be made by on pitch official.

Yep. VAR can't diss the ref to the max. Bad form.

Harvey Barnes is MILES better than Bailey, it's not even close.
