Barnes must have scored a fair few against us for Albion and Leicester, sign him up!

a bit like the game against them at Villa Park, they counterattack with pace and directness, must try to stop them doing this second half. Would try Carlos in for young and Konsa to RB and Dendoncker in for Bailey and Mc Ginn to the left

Harvey Barnes doing to Ashley Young what we all hoped Leon Bailey would be doing to full-backs all season.  If Unai can find a way to nullify Barnes, then I think we'll win this.

To be fair to Barnes, his goal was tremendous, his first-touch was sensational (Ash's positioning wasn't perfect, but Barnes' touch definitely was).  Would love to see us pick him up in the summer.

Bailey is fucking dreadful, dismal player. Barnes has got the beating of Young time and time again, I’d probably put Moreno or Digne there.

Really shit goal to concede, why didn’t Konsa slide in and cut it out?

Bit harsh, asking plenty for him to get across in time.

Wonder if we'll see the same as Saturday and Chambers on at half time and go to a back 5 which would give us an extra player at the back for their crossfield balls.

Comms said 5 goals past us in about 7 games.

We didnt do a lot wrong, we have a small squad - and have a 37 yo at right back against a top winger.

other than that we look comfortable.  Im sure Unai will have noticed the same.  I think bringing off bailey and either going to 3 at the back or putting Dendonker in the middle and mcginn out wide

Were the better side, but they do have some very good players

Generally good again. They've tightened up on Doug and SJM who both had an excellent opening half hour.

Bailey off, Chambers on again. Need to protect Young.

We always give the opposition chances so this is on a knife edge.

Leon Bailey is the only player that hasn't improved until Emery. His inability to retain possession in any way is astounding for a Premier League footballer.

Bailey does a thing that I used to do playing for the under-11s. Tries to beat one too many men and then makes a half-arsed attempt to poke the ball in the vague direction of a teammate in a 'look, I was going to pass to you all along' way. I was on 50p a week at the time.

What does Bailey actually do? Apart from create throw ins and lose possession?

Get Duran on

I'd go Traore - but the change has to be made. Leon just doesn't get it

Yes Traore for me too. Mind you he didn't look that great against Bournemouth when he came on but we don't have many options in that position.

They have one trick, get the ball to Barnes, stop him and we win this.
Need to make a substitution or two to do that. Young has no answer and Ramsey has been hopeless again on the right flank in front of him. I think Emery brought some of this on himself with his team selection, there was no need to move Ramsey off the left flank. Especially to accommodate Bailey, hasn't been as bad as usual but still.

Fine goal we scored and after that we were in total control until their equaliser. Brilliant goal it has to be said from Barnes, hope he's the kind of player we go for in the summer. Luiz has been outstanding again, was in acres of space just before half time but Bailey decided to shoot. Moreno and McGinn very good too.

Donk and Chambers for Young and Bailey. Shift McGinn back to the right, Ramsey to left, Buendia inside.

He doesn't strike me as the sharpest knife in the drawer.
He's not even a knife in the drawer. He's long since fallen from the back of the drawer into the gap between the drawer and the wall, and is lying forlornly on the floor, covered in dust and mites.

Not got a problem with Barnes' goal, it was really good.Still think we'll have far too much for them second half.

Watkins rarely scores a brace in a match, so we've got to play the second half very smart because when Iheanacho comes on I fancy them to score another.

Someone needs to step up.

Yest Mery picks him to start much more than the previous guy. Maybe something we don’t know?

Look at all the managers who used to pick Heskey. Regularly. Baffling post 2001
Good job you’re not a manager.
He was world class at holding up the play.

2 games in 3.5 days is a lot for Young
