The Torres thing hasn’t looked quite right but if we know anything about our manager is that he will put in the time and effort to make it work.

Just hope it isn't one of those cases where a manager doubles down on trying to make it work despite all evidence on the contrary. Torres is an odd signing for me.

Ive seen signs of absolute quality with Torres in the limited times he’s played CB for us. He needs to settle in and it will take time, but there were lots on here questioning the quality of Moreno and the need to prioritise a left back, for a number of weeks, before all became clear.
Mings is obviously still the main man and quite rightly so, but I’d say Torres will start the Euro/cup games at CB and will eventually becomes a mainstay.

We’ll need to rotate players due to the extra games this season so we needed another centre back regardless.

Maybe he's looking at alternative cover while Moreno is out!

It's common for a manager to sign a player he's worked with before (and rates highly) so it's not that odd really.

That's my take too, just giving Torres some minutes at left back in case something happens to Digne whilst Moreno is still out.

Multiple options will keep the opposition guessing, they won't have a clue who or what our starting lineup will be.
By the time they work it out the Maestro will change everything!

Bring on the Toon. I can't wait.

Emery or Howe? I know which one Id want, every day of every week

It will be an interesting match as currently we do seem very even.

We drew them 3-3 in USA, beat Fulham and drew with Brentford (they drew with Chelsea and beat Brighton).

Then we both played Italian opposition at "home" and we won 3-0 and they won 2-0. Now we both play Spanish opposition away where we have already won. So we seem to currently be evenly matched in terms of results.

Don’t downplay the MacPhee contribution. Who knows where the Austin-Maestro partnership could take us!

:D Hopefully our version is more successful and a bit easier on the eye.
