I can get used to this. I’ve decided the Emery bloke can stay for a bit longer
Give him the Newcastle game.

We’ll have to be careful or that lot across the city might make him an offer he can’t refuse now they’re massive again

Have to say, the shirt looks lovely at a distance and sans sponsor

Close up it’s absolutely wringing wet with sweat. Terrible to play in.
And here is me thinking that  these hi-tech 150 pound 'pro' shirts were made to play top-level sport with sweat management and all sorts.

Against Lazio I could sort of convince myself the result was partly because they are a week behind us in preparation for the next season, with Serie A not starting till the 19th.  But La Liga starts next weekend, same as us, so fitness wise we should be the same.  And though Valencia aren't a top Spanish team these days, we're making them look average.

They can’t deal with Coutinho.

Blimey, if he is going to be somewhere approaching his best this season, who knows what the ceiling is*.

* = and of course the seasoned Villa fan in me says avoiding relegation by a good 3 points instead of 1 :)
