Longer match highlights - Olsen did well on that showing:

He was ok but still managed one of his obligatory kicks straight to an opposing attacker.

At his age I'd like to think he could get fit enough to start and play a whole match.  But I'm not holding my breath.  I'd probably still take the money from Saudi if it was offered, but there's just that small chance he could be great for us.

Depends on opposition, I suppose. European group games, cup ties against most teams, I could see him starting. It would be just our luck that he'd come back into form just in time to secure a move to Saudi, but yeah, if the money was enough its hard to see us turning it down.

There really was something there last night, his confidence visibly grew as it went on and him and Dougie linked up really well. I still have some hope.

has shown a few things, Archer still has a lot to do for Emery to consider giving him game time in the premiership - everyone connected with the Villa wants him to succeed as a local lad, but he is short at the moment.  Olsen not good enough to be considered as a back up keeper who may well have to play this season given the number of games potentially- just can't confidently play out from the back with him.

Emery leaving the keeper out of it has some difficult choices for defence places with a more than capable unit.

Right wing please no more of Bailey other than cameos off the bench.  Philogene has not done enough to convince me he's good enough sorry.

The bright spark though has to be Tielemans  - Leicester must have been poor in the other 10 positions for them to have gone down.  He's class.

Not sure I heard it right last night but it sounded like the stadium announcer said Philogene Bad Ass when he came on as a sub.

Highlights? I gave up when they had been showing fouls or offsides called well before a shot at goal, then showed Watkins goal without the pass from Tieleman which was tremendous. I'm guessing they worried any clips of play longer then 5 seconds would get the video flagged.

Well, they were more enjoyable than the other set I saw this morning when I woke up.

Last night I dreamt that Jed John Steer loved me
No Olsen, no harm, just another false alarm

The real question is, what did the Italian folk think of the balti pies?

And Walsall. Must have been quite the eye-opener after Rome.
Oh come on, some of Rome's areas are totally dilapidated. That big round thing has been  in a mess for a while now.

I'm wondering what team Emery will put out against Valencia. After the way Lazio tried to kick us around the pitch last night we were lucky to come away with no serious injuries. There's also the matter of who starts against the Saudis in central defence, Kamara and/or Tielemans in midfield?

I reckon:

Martinez
Cash Konsa Mings Digne
Bailey Tielemans Luiz McGinn
Diaby Watkins

I don't think that'll be far off for Newcastle either.
