Unsurprisingly for a friendly loads of subs create disruption.

At times we looked scarily good.

Anyone else a tiny bit concerned about Diego Carlos? Doesn’t look comfortable on the ball at times.

Things I’ve learnt today…

- Ben Mee is still a dirty cnut.
- We are very quickly becoming a very good football team.
- To make the most of this team, we need an upgrade on Ollie Watkins. Love him, love his effort, but he blows far too hot and cold…. Probably cost us this trophy with his misfiring today.

Little disappointed in the end but, as is usual with any team, the flow goes out of the game when so many changes are made.

Same here. A little disppointed but remain optimistic.

Not convinced by him on what I've seen so far. I think he'll be 4th choice to be honest.

We looked good, sharp in the first half and played some lovely stuff.  The changes are always likely to disrupt.  We rarely seem to beat Brentford and it wasn't because they matched us today, it's because we gave them a couple of soft goals.  Some of our football is scintillating.  We need Ollie to sharpen up and another striker and wider forward, which I reckon Unai and Monchi are working on.  Silly goals given away but we tidied up in the last third of the season and will do the same for the coming campaign.  Really impressed with Diaby.  Our midfield in the first half was excellent and with Youri and JJ added, we look in good shape.

The Watkins quandary is a funny one. Archer is a big drop in overall quality, but he’d probably have scored at least one of his two chances.

Ideally you’d get someone as good as Watkins overall but with Archer’s finishing. Not sure where you’d get one that a) would be less than £80m and b) would not have Champions League suitors.

Torres makes me more nervous. I thought after his early mistake Carlos grew into the game. Neither great but then the whole defence is a bit pick 'n' mix right now.

Would it be fair to say that Emery is as yet unconvinced by what Archer might offer?

I thought Torres was supposed to be quick, didn't seem especially so today. It's still Konsa and Mings for me to start the season.

No. He wouldn't be in his plans for the season otherwise.

Tim Howard has us as most impressive team in the tournament. That’s the real quiz.

Get Mings to chuck his boot over the stadium.

Then why did you say Fray Bentos?
