For each of their three goals Cash could have done better IMO.

It's just an annoying time. If it was 2am, could realistically go to bed and get back up, but midnight means staying up.

That used to kill me when I lived in Shanghai. The Saturday 5.30 kick offs in winter meant a 1.30am start over there, but at least I could lie in on Sunday morning. The worst were the Sunday 4pm kick offs as that was midnight in China. Going to bed deflated and trying to sleep at 2am on Monday morning was really difficult. I was too furious to sleep at all after the 2010 Phil Dowd disaster.
Worst one I had was a 4am start in Vancouver to watch the small Heath game , that one we were 2-0 up in and they scored a last minute equaliser and it was as if they'd won the World Cup. That really ruined my Sunday that one

Sorry if already mentioned but Villa fans will be gathering at the Harp & Celt Irish Pub Orlando from 11am on Wednesday.
I'll be stopping by 😊

I like Metty Cesh, seems a decent bloke, but if i draw a list of "players we need to improve on", he's at the top. Well, not THE top, that's obviously Olsen.

Cash appears to have hit his glass ceiling . Unless Emery can work his magic. Either way we need another RB

A day that starts like that is a write off!

Rewatching last night's game, Tim Howard on comms is absolutely fawning over us the whole match. If i were a Newcastle fan, that'd have been annoying.

Another observation - it may have been a draw, but we played by far the better football.

We have better players and a better manager.
I think a combined eleven would be 90% Villa players.

Mentioned on the Match thread, those of us lucky enough to have US commentary were thanking our lucky stars we didn't have to listen to pro-Saudi bullshit. Whenever I have an option of a UK or US stream, it's always 'la la la la la America'.

I feel you. It’s much the same in New Zealand, but a couple of hours more offset. 3am kickoffs are a nightmare.

We did, we were undone by our own silly errors , hopefully it's just rustiness and now its a case of ironing out any creases pre-season

I sort of agree, at least of those who are pretty much first choice options in the team, BUT, it's such a good sign of the progress we've made as a club and a squad that someone like Matty Cash is now considered one of the weaker players in the side.  I think he's a good RB - not exceptional, but good - and he's a full international.  A guaranteed upgrade won't be easy to source.  We need covered though, definitely.

He was being linked with a £50m move to Arsenal not long after we signed him. I don't think he's a bad player at all, but it would be good to see him improve as others have; that maybe says more about the level of better performance we've seen from others though.
