Plenty of promising signs. Look forward to seeing them in person on Wednesday

According to Emery we will should see Coutinho and Diaby for the next game. Bailey rejoins us on Thursday so likely see him on Sunday vs Brentford.

That video seems to take forever to download.
Editing on this one is atrocious - you might need to watch it more than once and pause it a bit to see what’s going on.
And there’s a video game on there with a car for the last minute as well!

Kellyman looks like a really good player, huge potential. I like the look of Aaron Ramsey also.

Tielemans was a great pick up. If we could get a Felix or Goncalves then I think world domination is not too far away!

Enjoyable game.

Their second goal and Olsen aside, I was really impressed by the Villa.

Don't like Newcastle, Wilson's face, Howe's face, Howe's fake tan face assistant's face, or any of their ridiculous fans.

Up the Villa!

3 observations from me after a quick watch.

Buendia looks reborn
Olsen is hot and very, very cold
Carlos is going to give away a lot of penalties

Well, hadn’t planned on staying up. Thought our possession play was really good and we created a lot of good chances. We should pull a few teams apart this year. 20 minutes in and I was wondering who this new number 10 was that we had signed. Buendia was excellent. And I think Kellyman announced himself last night. He should get a loan move after that.

A very entertaining first hit-out against Prem level opposition. Better than last year’s 1-1 v Leeds in Brisbane anyway. When we transition with pace, and add some precision (Buendia stepping up at last) most defences will not cope with us.

Struck me that:
- Cashie was only one to play full 90+8 mins. RB cover can’t be kept on hold much longer, surely?
- The high line will keep costing us goals at times. Emery’s view must be that pouncing after building from the back will offset the ledger most times.
- Philogene looked sharper than Archer in taking opportunities to impress today.
- Olsen still radiates uncertainty to others. His distribution by rolling or throwing seems better than by feet. Just a shame the game requires dealing with backpasses.
- Youri eclipses Harvey in the battle of new midfielders, espec in the critical ‘handsomeness’ stakes. Our dressing room may not have coped with that Barnes nose.

Great to have proper football back!

Just a point of order. Our player is now Jaden Philogene. He's dropped the Bidace bit.

Which is why it's a bit weird he had both parts on the back of his shirt.

Changed it back?

I noticed the commentator was calling him Philogene.

Even though it had Bidace on the back of his shirt.

Ah. That's very strange! I didn't stay up to watch. And yes it appears he has JPB officially but a few months ago said he wanted to be known as Jaden Philogene.

I'll get back in my box....
