I get nervous when we win all our pre-season games.
I don't want all I just want 1 win and so far they have not won a game. Manager needs to get real.

We need more Spanish speaking players. And more Americans because of Heck.

Didn't we get relegated when we did?
I think we did. Conversely I think the pre-season results in 1980 were quite poor.

In the DOL years we always used to coast through pre-season, usually on some tour of Scandinavia and stick about 14 past a bunch of no-hopers.  Since then I've paid no attention to friendly results whatsoever.

I infer an inverse relationship. Poor pre-season results = good season, good pre-season results = crap season.

Let's not go there when Ancelotti will soon need to be replaced.

For them I was impressed with that lad Trialist; he seemed to be everywhere.

The second string did ok when they came on, but then again Walsall had their second string on by that stage so the level of opponents was lower.

Philogene did quite well, but I couldn't have called out anyone else in particular and obviously there wasn't a lot of energy being expended.

Pre-season is strange as there are lots of players we won't see again in the first team squad until maybe a league cup game and then in all probability we won't see them again afterwards.

Shouldn't Coutinho have been involved in this?

Non-international and given he's not played for six months you'd think he'd be getting regular minutes in pre season if he was a genuine part of the squad this season.

I think he'll be somewhere else by August.

Duran was interesting omission unless he had a knock as he wasn't involved for Colombia during June.

Coutinho was on the injured list i believe?

What we need to understand is that Unai wouldn’t have spent hours analysing Walsall (but there again I might be wrong) so no conclusions can be drawn from today other than he got a good look at the kids
