Have we ever had a less appetising pre season tour than this?

Sunday, July 23 at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
Newcastle United v Aston Villa

Wednesday, July 26 at Exploria Stadium, Orlando
Fulham v Aston Villa (7pm)

Sunday, July 30 at FedEx Field, Landover, Maryland
Aston Villa v Brentford (12pm)

The cities are fine but would much prefer to have non-PL opposition. I guess it's all about 'growing the brand' stateside.

I can think of a lot of better destinations in the USA.
Washington has some obvious Iconic sights, Philadelphia is a dump and Orlando great if you like Tourists and Theme Parks.

I guess it could be fun if combining a bit of a road trip.

In Las Vegas.

Philly's alright, huge parts have been gentrified in the past few years plus NY is an hour on the train and DC and hour the other direction, mind you last time I took the AMTRAK from Philly to NY it was cheaper to fly. I'm tempted by this one, take in the game and a few days in NYC either side.
Plus Philly has the best taxis by far, I give you Freedom Taxis.

Gotta say, I've been in Philly for years now and I've come to love it. I will certainly be at the Newcastle game and might drive down for the Brentford match.

I worked downtown a fair bit and enjoyed the city, wouldn’t cross the road to visit the Liberty Bell mind.

PL opposition sucks. It'll be soundtracked by Key Markets - Sleaford Mods. Maybe they'll send the U23s to Tolka Park or Dayler...we can but hope.

I’m going to try for the Fulham game for sure and possibly the Newcastle if I can swing it the weekend before.

Us, Fulham, Brentford, Chelsea, Newcastle, Brighton.

Clever marketing, I guess.

Florida is shit. Las Vegas is shit.

I've never been to Florida. I've no interest in Miami or Orlando or anywhere like that but the Everglades look amazing. I couldn't help but like how mental Las Vegas was, despite not being into gambling.

Miami is not really worth it for most tourists and Orlando only if you have pre teen and early teen kids but otherwise it’s great, the Everglades as you say, the Keyes and further up the east and west coasts. Las Vegas on the whole, once you’ve seen the lights at night once is not my bag at all, the weakest of all the spots on the tour of the west. I did like the Mirage though.

I'm not sure how much it matters that it's PL opposition. Each side will be a mixed side of first team players, support players, new signings and young players coming through. It won't have the full competitiveness of a Premier League game, just sides looking to get their fitness ready for the new season.
