Never a pen, but there was no need for Bailey to make any contact on the player, still we can win this one, need to use Cash more.

Decent half that. We dominated possession and slowed the game down to keep things under control. Emery is clearly not a fan of breathless end to end football. Good.

And we're the team playing the fancy football. It doesn't always come off, but when it does we move through the gears very smoothly. All very continental.

If we could just replace the puppy chasing a balloon on our right hand side with some real quality, we'd be winning this.

I think we have played really well apart from defending corners.

I had been holding out on Bailey, but the negatives are far outwaying the positives.  I guess we could put Duran up with him, if not it will have to be Olsen

We should be ahead. We’ve been the better side. As much as this can be frustrating it’s a world apart from the dross at the start of the season.
I will take dross if it means a win.

Yeh, but we were dross and losing.

Fackin' Tony Gale on co-comms is winding me up, the one eyed twat

Yeah, I like him normally but horribly biased today.

That penalty was a shocking decision but Martinez was soft as butter with the punch clear initially. He looks a bag of nerves for some reason and we need him to be a lot braver second half.

When we started playing we look by far the best team. If Ollie is sharper he scores those two before half time. Luiz has been outstanding for me. Ramsey woke up last 10 mins. Buendia looks sharp too. Not convinced by either of our full backs when they are ran at.

Moreno is superb going forward

He reminds me of Chris Price weirdly. Great bombing forward but defensively gives you the shits...

We're playing some great passing football and are unlucky not to be ahead.

Moreno has done well down the left but Bailey needs to improve drastically.

Jekyll & Hyde stuff from Moreno. Some great runs and brilliant passing, but equally, some sloppy balls and cannot cope with Bowen, who you have to say is by far their best player.

I would rather see Traore ambling around than have Bailey on in the second half.

Gale can get fucked, he's always been against us regardless of who we're playing but it sounds like West Ham TV today.

Lads, this is being streamed on AVTV, so you have access, log into out Jack and Tayles and free yourselves from Gale and Cascarino. They are showing some great slow-mo angles of our goal that you wouldn't see on general broadcasting. I'd happily pay for all Villa games live like this.

All he really did was turn around, I'm not sure what else he could do to avoid contact. As I said at the time, if you give that then it's basically a non-contact sport, that sort coming together never gets given as a foul anywhere else on the pitch and happens multiple times per game. Tim Howard called it out as bullshit at halftime as well.

Played well. Some excellent passing moves and we deserve to be in front.

I’d take Buendia off marking Ings at corners before we concede another soft penalty.

He came into it more later on tbf. Perhaps he's better used as an impact substitute
