I normally park on Tyburn Road and walk in via the reservoir but it's not secured in any way.  King Edward VI Aston School Playing Fields works reasonably well but I only use it occasionally.

A lot of people with blue badges park on Priory Road.  Some poor chap came back to his car to find the whole front of it had been dismantled and nicked after the match yesterday.

Tickets are one pitfall for street parking, the other being the spate of car break-ins as well. I remember many a time walking down towards Perry Barr and every third car had a smashed window. It might have alleviated now most cars have built in entertainment things which make them hard to take.
I have parked in streets around Upper Sutton street, Bevington and Whitehead road etc for about 37 years and never had any problem. Maybe driving Datsun 100A helps ;D
