I'm not such a fan of the Powerleague parking. After abandoning the factory parking opposite the Aston Tavern for the same reasons as everyone else, I used Powerleague for at least 5 years. After they put traffic lights on the M6 roundabout the traffic really backs up along the road leading to that roundabout and it means no one can get out of the Powerleague car park. If you're early you can park near an exit and it's not too bad, but if you're not you end up at the back of the car park and it's taken me more than an hour to get out on several occasions.  They also kept putting the price up, it's at least £10 now I think? I now use the yourparkingspace app (that is great for away days) and park in random places the other side of the ground (Mount Zion Church car park being a regular haunt), at least 15 min walk away. I never get stuck now and use the Expressway to get onto the M6, it can get chunky but it's not too bad.

We use The Marigold on Brookvale Road. £5, nice car park and easy to get out of at the end. Bit of a walk

I am going to give this a go this evening. We normally park at the Gee business centre but this time the three of us are dotted around the ground so resigned to getting stuck wherever we end up.

edit

This was good, easy to get onto the M6 and away.

Thought I’d try the Y international car park today that is through the club website, don’t think I’ll bother again, still sat in the car park, not moved and the game finished an hour and half ago, still got an 130 mile drive after I get out

Do they still monitor resident's parking in and around the ground?

You need to get the sweet spot that not too near that the early leavers block the junctions / exits up, and not to far that it takes 45 minutes to walk to the car. Sounds like you were caught in the former, c&b e.

If I’m by myself I now park at Star city, but was with my 6 year old, so that is a bit too far to walk

I was finally out of the car park 2 hours after the final whistle!!

It does seem to have got a lot worse leaving VP over the last few years, not sure why as I have tried a few different places

We noticed on Saturday for the first time, traffic wardens issuing tickets in the side roads opposite Tesco, 2 traffic warden with 2 K2 security guys supporting them. Loads of vehicles with tickets, if they didnt have a residents parking permit on show they got a ticket.

We park on the school just up from Tesco and get there a couple of hours before kick off, it was a very visable operation.

Tickets are one pitfall for street parking, the other being the spate of car break-ins as well. I remember many a time walking down towards Perry Barr and every third car had a smashed window. It might have alleviated now most cars have built in entertainment things which make them hard to take.

Parking enforcement comes and goes in waves. Nowt for months and then I see loads of tickets.

I used to park at the same school (Broadway) as you do. However, when the Perry Barr work started pre-Commonwealth, I switched to leaving my car down a Trinity Road side street just outside of the restricted zone.
Has worked OK so far, but I do have an anonymous Focus

There were dozens of cars parked on the pavement on Queens Road towards Aston Station on Saturday, and every single one had a ticket on it.
