Surprising how little media attention Newcastle's shit-housing gets.

They're much worse at it than we are.

Eddie Howe's teams always are but he's that nice home counties chap with a smart haircut so...

If you were a journalist would you dare criticise them….??

"Hi, we have an exclusive interview with Eddie Howe if you can make it?"

"Great, where?"

"Oh just pop down to the embassy"

I have to admit, I hate our OTT time wasting and it won’t be long before it bites us on the bum. Why on earth collect yellows like this. It’s senseless. It’s easy to spot exactly when the ref has lost his patience, just pass it or punt it then. We will no doubt become the first team to get a red for this, for sure. Refs will start to pick our players out for it.. I believe it’s very high on their agenda right now.

All teams who are ahead or trying to get a draw in games do it, but we seem to have taken it a step further and made it really obvious.  Where I think it could end up costing us is that we are seeing a lot of added on time in our games and we haven't exactly got a great record when it comes to conceding late goals.

Newcastle have had loads of stick for their time wasting, especially the Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal games.

I'm also absolutely loving opponents frothing at our time wasting and gamesmanship. I don't think it's entirely justified or any worse than those teams that have been doing it for years, but the very fact it's happening and working and upsetting the opposition is great.
Sign of a successful team. Teams only waste time when they are holding out for a favourable result. In the past we didn’t do much  shithousery  ourselves and got upset with our opponents when they did it and there was an obvious reason for that.

Leeds are all energy and running. Their problem is that is all they are.

I thought we were poor by our own standards but a couple of moments of quality was enough.

That’s why Leeds are where they are in the table.

They still play as they did under Bielsa only they’re much blunter with it

Yeah it was interesting, the had a few moments and their winger played well. I thought Rodrigo made intelligent runs as well. But it was noticeable that with our limited opportunities we were just much more incisive and clinical. The quality from Ash, Kamara, and Bailey for our first was just outstanding.

Yes, but having limited opportunities at home to Leeds, especially the first half where less than 10% of the play was in their third, will have to change if we're to be a consistently decent team.

Of course it will. But look at Brighton and Manure - they’re beating everyone, except us. Emery has made a bloody good start.

The Martinez booking was like he was putting a blindfold on for the firing squad. It was screamingly obvious the point at which the ref lost his patience. He could have wasted 5 seconds less by making a pass. From a world class shithouser, it was schoolboy stuff.

We have been singled out for the refs to punish to make it seem like they are clamping down on it. They aren't, because every team in the league does it with impunity...

I'm also absolutely loving opponents frothing at our time wasting and gamesmanship. I don't think it's entirely justified or any worse than those teams that have been doing it for years, but the very fact it's happening and working and upsetting the opposition is great.
It seems when we do it, its time wasting & disgraceful. When other teams do it, its "game management". Just heard Hinchcliffe praise Rotherham for doing it. One rule for others & all that...
Bit weird to quote myself, but its part of the point, I have just watched the Brentford v Bournemouth game & sky were once again, praising Brentford for their clever "game management system" while time wasting. I have watched three games on Sky in two days. Two of the games praised the "game management" time wasting, the other team doing the "game management" were slated as disgraceful for the second or third time so far on Sky this season. Guess which was Villas game?

Exactly!! We’re so conditioned with shite, we sometimes forget how to focus on the positives, 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat, with Man U, Brighton, Spurs and Liverpool in that mix. Its been excellent

And you don't think he didn't know that any bookings received last night were wiped off for the rest of the season?

We scored 7 goals had 9 points from the first 11 games playing dire turgid football. We generally played also rans as it turns out.
Since then we have scored more goals, have 16 points from the last 8 games and played some good stuff. We generally played against points wise better teams.

I want Villa Park to be a place of dread for every other team like Bolton or Blackburn in mid 00s or even now Brentford/Brighton - and we will play much better football and make much more noise

I've absolutely no problem with our time wasting.
We had it done to us for years and it's contributing to us seeing out and winning games.
