I guess it depends on whether you think those 3 are all interchangeable. For me badge, crest and icon(to add in an internet specific one as well) are all things that you can present a logo as or that a logo can form part of. That's why personally I still like the idea of the logo being just the Lion (in monochrome) and then the badge being specific to what is displayed on the shirt (and other merchandise).
