Glad of the lead; well worked goal. Cb 2 look dodgy for us. Cash has been poor. Only Leander and Sanson look up for it. Bailey is definitely playing on the wrong side (all left footed-no right). They’ve not troubled us and when they have got anywhere near it’s been of our own making. Less of the pedestrian football 2nd half please.

Bailey's right foot helps him stand up straight, but that's about it.

Though the best thing he's done in the first half is to swing in a very decent first time cross with his right foot, when that was the only option available to him.

He was involved in the goal

He is better on the left

Yes, they are putting 8 or 9 behind the ball, but Christ, when they do attack and have on occasions we have to move the ball quicker when we win it back.

The woman on commnetary is desperate for them to get something here.

We weren't great but it is hard against what is effectively a back 8 and we're trying to force it a bit too much.

Sanson and Luiz have been our best players by a long way, Bailey has been terrible.
She’s dreadful. She started proceedings with an opening statement of We’re focusing on a giant killing here. “. The only reason bbc covering this game is they smell blood. It’s always the same.  Much as I love to see the Villla on tv. I always dread the commentary.

I find Dion hard work to be honest

Very very poor. Lots of possession, very little threat. The one time we moved it a little quicker than snails pace & we scored. They on the other hand are taking advantage of the fact that three of that back four have the pace of a tree & are getting in behind on the counter. They have a chance with that play. And if that commentator with Dublin got more excited about Stevenage, she might just have an orgasm on live TV. I get the underdog angle, but Jebus, show a little professionalism.

We’re so pedestrian.

Exactly. The only time we demonstrate our superior skill and technique we score. In great Villa tradition we have a team that are scared to run at the opposition, Coutinho seems to slow the game down so he can have a breather, if Buedia had given the ball away like Coutinho you'd have imploded after 25 minutes.

Bailey as others have said is having a 'mare but Cash is hanging back due to them getting lots of fun down our right side. Maybe Sanson could support Bailey more in addition to being the only Villa player that looks like they deserve a game.

The goal was all about the movement of Coutinho, Bailey and Sanson, we dragged the defence about and then moved the ball quickly to use the space. I hope we do more of it.

Kaden Young on the bench is a mistake. No matter how good he is, we should not be giving first team games & media praise to kids until they have reached the age of 18 & signed a long term pro contract. Have we learned nothing from the Chukwuemeka situation?

Not this shit again
In what specific area do you disagree? Maybe you should create a Kaden Young thread, so not to upset some of the more sensitive posters on this board...

He's on the bench for a 3rd round fa Cup match, along with about 20 other Premier league youngsters this weekend.

Hardly blowing smoke up his arse are we. Such a bizarre narrative you've created

I don't care about other clubs youngsters & how they are dealt with, unless it involves Villa. The manager has been praising Young in the media this week. Im not saying that we should call him shit & pay him in coal, I am just wary of building up the ego of youngsters with praise & first team opportunities before they have signed a proper long term pro contract on their 18th birthday. Chuckweumeka & his people told us all the right things about that contract, but we fed his ego with comments from the likes of Purslow & gave him more first team opportunities than his play deserved & he left thinking he was the big "I am". I do not want to repeat the same mistakes with any of our other prospects.

Probably time to think about something else I reckon

The only thing that matters is progress to round 4. The rest is flim flam.
