Yes he needs to be back for this one.  A few days on the lash will be sufficient so should be back and raring to go.

If he doesn’t make it back he can stay in BA.

He will, presumably, have family in the Midlands that he wants to spend Christmas with. I can't imagine he won't be back for the weekend, it's only Tuesday. Just a question of how fit he is, then, but keepers can probably get away with a few days out of training more easily than outfield players can.

He's fit.  He may be a bit jaded or hung over, but surely a 90% Martinez is better than Olsen?  He ought to be able to get himself up for a game against Liverpool even if it is a big comedown from a WC final.

The more I think about it the more dissapointed I'd be if he doesn't make it back to play.

Yep, and they also don't have all of the running about that outfield players do, so not like he's going to be knackered. Get yourself home Emi, we need you.

I'd be amazed if the club didn't have protocols in place with the player and the Argentinian FA. He will have been given a date to report for training. It would seem that this date has not been made public. If so why not? It's only the World Cup FFS! :-/

What better way to come back than on Boxing Day against Liverpool. You can bet he won't want to miss Spuds either, given the previous Arsenal links.

Olsen plays, we lose. Martinez plays, we draw. So either 0-2 or 0-0.

Fuck the previous Arsenal links, he should be up for every game once he's finished wanking into a glove.

Yeah, was fairly confident he would be playing earlier but with Brighton giving Mac Allister time off I reckon he will be missing now.

Different physical exertion for a midfielder compared to a goalie perhaps, but you're probably right. Seriously shit if he misses the Liverpool, Spurs and Wolves games though, the bottom bit of the table could start to become a concern again.

Perhaps he’ll turn up as a surprise for Liverpool.

Hope he does. I have no confidence in Olsen at all. Would much prefer to see a jet-lagged, hung-over Martinez.
