Can anyone recommend, or otherwise, Aston Villa - The Complete Record?

I had the original 2 and they are fantastic. I assume the later Rob Bishop editions will be as well.

Thanks, it's currently £15 plus P&P (£7.99) for the rest of the day.

I also have all three complete record books.

The Complete Record is essential - its our Bible.  Solved a few disputes in the past.

First 100 years by Peter Morris - paperback but tremendous.

Fan wise Mark B's (brassneck's) is up there with the best - really tells the story of being a very fan home and away in the 70s and beyond as I remember it.  An alternative is  Danny B's and Fowl's book isn't bad either.

Just 14 the best "fictional" book

If your looking for photos then Terry Weir's photo book is up with the very best.

I really think we are blessed in this sense.

Talking of Villa related books Gangsters, Geezers & Mods will be on sale again outside the church tomorrow, via the author and one of the characters in the book (me and Kurtis). Crime, local history, youth culture, football violence and Villa. Or as the publisher puts it: “Mods, Mobsters and Brum-based Football Bovver!”

Please pop over and say hello if you’re on the manor.

New book out in October about our second place finishes in 1989 and 1993. Considering the fond memories of those seasons I think this is will be popular:

Never heard of Richard Sydenham but former journalist and prolific author going by the Bio. Steve Stride interviewed along with former players.

It's about time we had something from Pitch Publishing as they do produce some excellent Football nostalgia Books on niche events/club seasons. Basically fans writing dissertations on their favourite Football event!

Richard Sydenham wrote 'Ticket To The Moon', an excellently written book covering the 70's and 80's, subtitled 'The Rise and Fall of a European Champion'. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the best Villa books there is, and I've got them all (I think).

I've found another box full of goodies. Season Reviews, Road to Rotterdam (signed) and a few others if anyone is interested. Plus a couple of Villa jigsaws.

From his bio on Amazon is says Sydenham is from Brum and given he’s written books on Villa chances are he’s one of our own.

Thanks for the tip off about the book, looks like an early entry on the Christmas list. 89 - 93 was a great period to be a Villa fan as our stock was rising after the drop off after ‘82. I got to see a lot of the London games with a Brummie Spurs fan mate of mine strangely.
